FWIW, RMU is playing DIII Mt Aloysius this week.
It is funny to play Mt. Aloysius. Joe went out of his way to stress they couldn't get a D1 game in Pittsburgh. Said nobody would play them. Then Calipari took a little shot I read as being at Pitt by saying they came way down here because nobody in Pittsburgh will play them.

Joe would take a regular season game against any D1 team in Pittsburgh. I have no doubt about it.

Notice St. Francis is also very selective which D2 teams they play yearly.

West Liberty has had the same problem with WVU.

Do you think Calipari played IUP because he was a Clarion alumnus, so he had some knowledge of the Psac? St. Francis has Bloom on the regular schedule this year, but that may be because Sanow was a coach there. It appears many games get scheduled because of connections. Bloom women scrimmaged Colgate because of the Cleary connection.

I was only referring to this weekend's action and was unaware that Mercyhurst played SUNY Fredonia. I had based my recap of records off the standings from the PSAC website as of Monday morning.

The Mercyhurst website makes no reference to the Fredonia game being an exhibition; the game recap and Hurst's schedule page reflects a 1-0 record.

PSAC hasn't had many bright spots this weekend. Awful for the most part.
So you are saying IUP should roll easily through the conference?

Because at the end of the day, that's all that matters!

Nope. Not saying that at all. I said the league had a bad weekend. Basketball is a strange and very long season. Rollercoaster ride.

The East had its best year ever last season. Some retooling was expected.

If you aren't going to say it, I will. IUP should EASILY roll through the conference.

The problem with that comment is we've heard that year after year for the past three decades.

I will say, if healthy, yes, they are the clear favorite.

But, crap happens. Look at last year. That was a good team ... that had every possible thing go wrong -- from grease fires to broken hands to suspensions .... blah blah blah. It's a long journey. You need some luck.

                    First two games at Shaw:

                    80 minutes played

                    2 wins

                    36.5 ppg

                    Dropped 44 on East Stroud

Thiel came back late to cover the spread last night.

                              Wow.

Golden Eagles couldn't hold that big lead.
