The PSAC East is just not strong this season. The top four teams are decent outfits that can give anyone a problem on a given night, but they're not top regional or NCAA caliber. Shippensburg, which is far from having a banner year, has beaten both West Chester and East Stroud at home and was within a foul call or two of beating Millersville.Originally posted by Scrub View PostComment

Fayetteville & Union are on the same side of the CIAA bracket. So only one of them can even appear in the Championship game. The rest of the Region (especially the WCUs, ESUs, Charlestons, etc.) has to hope that a Claflin, VSU, or Bluefield doesn't make a magical runComment

And naturally--because it's the CIAA tournament--Virginia Union got upset by Johnson C. Smith yesterday. So it's up to Fayetteville to make sure that a team already slated for the field wins that CIAA auto-bid.Comment

In truly uniquely weird CIAA fashion, Fayetteville State and Blue State are playing in the championship after "trading coaches" after last season. During the off-season Fayetteville State fired/didn't retain their HC, went and hired Blue States coach, and then Blue State hired Fayetteville States ex coach.Comment

I was really impressed with D'Alessio when he was up here with FSU for the Regionals last year. I found it odd that Fayetteville didn't retain him. Good hire for Bluefield if you ask me.Comment

It's really good news for Charleston and West Chester that Fayetteville won the CIAA tourney. Most projections had Fayetteville in regardless.Comment
