Down goes #1 Grand Valley State 77-78. They stormed back from 17 down and had the chance to win it. That was a great game.

Yep. Wayne State almost choked it away. This game was HUGE for Mankato. If they win out and get to the Elite Eight they will be #1 seed, sticking Grand Valley to go through the South Central.Originally posted by ucmjennies View PostDown goes #1 Grand Valley State 77-78. Next round of bracketology by Inkblot is out. Very odd to not see Ashland in the field. Also Central Missouri and Pitt State not in the central region yet. I think that’s a tough field 1-8. There isn’t a bad team in that region.

The Central region is brutal. Pretty much the case every year. And how many teams, regardless of ranking could beat the top team in the east region? I think Central Missouri will get their way into the tournament, and who knows from there!
Ashland played without three of their starters in December, and only one of them came back in January. They have dealt with injuries all year. But if you look at their scores, they have only been dominated in three games this season. Taking a deeper dive, they only lost to Wayne State (MI) by 4 points The same Wayne State that just beat Grand Valley. So I think their absence is more related to missing players than anything else. But I am not certain the last time Ashland missed the tournament. I am going to say at least 10+ years ago.

Central Missouri is getting in. I actually think they will play Mankato in the regional final and have a shot at beating them.
Yes. The South Central division is the strongest, and it isn't even close this year. Traditionally the Midwest can be brutal too, but that is not the case this year. The Central is the other strong division.
Meanwhile you got the East. Whole different level of D2 basketball there...and not in a good way.

You might be right, the Jennies seem to be peaking at the right time. It would be interesting to see my 2 favorite teams duke it out. I don't think the Jennies have the offense to keep up with the Mavs, IMO. It would be fun to see who could try and guard Reese Schaaf. She is just so smooth and efficient, at just 5-11. It's honestly just nice to see Central Missouri have a "good" team, regardless of how far they go this year. I feel they've underperformed in terms in their talent level in recent years.Originally posted by Bballfan View PostCentral Missouri is getting in.
