Very surprised by number of undergrad students at many schools.

I was proud of the effort in football today. We lost to Findlay 45-43. A couple of costly drops and turnovers hurt us. We had the ball at the 1-yard line on one series in the 4th Q with two tries and failed to punch it in. We have lost a ton of close games this year....Bowie by 7, Tiffin by 5, Findlay by 2. I realize we got smoked by ODU although we actually led at half. We need to do better on the road.

I count that we start 9 underclassman on offense, 10 underclassmen on defense and the kicker returns. I counted all underclassmen on the offensive line. The QB will be back. All three of the running backs are sophomores. I think the future could be bright in football. We need to recruit some players that can come in and play next year for depth. These next three games are winnable, but we have to play 2 on the road. These guys fought today against a good program. Gotta rebound for next week's game up at Malone. Big game; gotta be ready.

It looks like a monsoon in Philippi as the men's soccer game has been halted with 39:28 left in 1st half....Battlers up 1-0.

ABU men's soccer defeats D&E 2-0 in Philippi.

Game had to be called with a 1:30 after a real cheap shot by a D&E player on a ABU player. I mean an absolutely dirty play that injured our guy. I am not going to hide any thing. We archive our games on video. It will be available by the morning. That was flat out an intentional and blatant dirty play late in the game. Tempers really flared at that point as the AB player laid on the field. I think the officials felt the game was over and no need to continue the contest to prevent any further incidents.

D&E can take their antics and their crap to the Mountain East. That is awful!

I thought AB had the football game today.

I always thought D&E was not my cup of tea.

Horrible, glad they're leaving. Hope you guys stay with us, though.

It is October 23rd. This announcement about Creehan coaching in this pro league occurred on October 11th. I am sure he knew well before that of his employment status with this team. It seems awfully quiet up there concerning this matter.

The school has announced nothing as of today. I believe it would be hard to run our athletic department from Salt Lake City. If Bodkins is going to be named AD, then why has something not been announced? I would hope that he would NOT be granted a "leave of absence" for this employment that he has elected on his own to seek. I believe the school needs to announce something soon.

Hearing that it will be a sabbatical, with bodkins covering until his return. You're right, it would be nice to hear that OFFICIALLY.

I am not shooting the messenger here.

But a "sabbatical" for this nonsense is a joke. This does not benefit the school in any way. This is not like a medical professor or science professor taking a sabbatical for research, educational study abroad or a writing a book that could benefit the school. This is Creehan being a linebackers coach because he still wants to coach football at the age of 68 or 69 or however old he is. He will be gone from January until at least mid-April. For the life of me, this totally disgusts me. I have nothing against him for the most part. But he is starting to wear me thin, and a lot of other people he is wearing thin too.

He should also not be PAID by the university for this. That would be double-dipping. This should be an upaid sabbatical. I also feel this is a slap in the face of our qualified alumni. We have two alumni up there that are more than qualified and experienced for this job. I am fine with Bodkins. She was a successful student-athlete at the school. She was a very successful coach. She has been assistant AD for quite some time now. Obviously I like JD Long based on his love for the school, his reputation as an individual and the job that he did before all that nonsense went down.

I wonder what some of these professors up there think of this. I think some questions need answered. I can see why the school has not announced any thing. I like the President, but I have to say this is the first thing that I have totally opposed him on.

Agree with everything you wrote here. The term I heard, was Sabbatical, and it caused me to react the same way as you. However, since this was not an "official" source, the term sabbatical could have been incorrect. Thus, I do believe the school should come out with an official announcement.

                        Pre-season G-MAC basketball polls:

Men are 5th and Women are 13th.

Men scrimmage Fairmont State last night at Rex Pyles Arena. The women scrimmage WV State on Sunday afternoon at Rex Pyles Arena.

Interesting. The G-MAC just announced that the ABU men's soccer quarterfinal playoff game with Ohio Valley has been moved to Charleston. So both teams have to travel.
