    That needs to change.

Totally agree. I really wish the MIAA would play other teams from GLIAC and GSC, GNAC. I wonder where Brandon stands on this.
LSC has incorporated GSC into its' scheduling . And this year, I was happy to see the Lakers travel to Clinton, MS. and play Delta State.

I would say no. With 16 teams it makes it easy to play all the teams every two years.

If you go unbeaten you are either going to be #1 or #2. And you could end up having two unbeaten teams. Back when they still had OOC games some teams still played other NSIC teams due to travel costs.

And I would like to see some new teams play. I've seen 492 college and major pro teams in person, I'd like to push that over 500. :smile-big:

I would make at least one non-conference game as a requirement for playoff participation. I would make the MIAA, NSIC, and GAC ineligible for the playoffs unless they changed their scheduling structure.

NSIC has been covered pretty well, but I'll add a few points.

-Current alumni in the NFL include Adam Thielen (Mankato) and CJ Ham (Augustana), both with the Vikings.
-Football alumni of member institutions include Josh Duhamel (Minot) and Isiah Whitlock Jr. (SMSU)
-Bemidji State's homecoming tradition is to jump into the lake after a win. I've been to Bemidji before and while I love the town, and the enthusiasm... that just sounds painful.
-Non-football alumni of Minnesota State-Moorhead include Hercules Kevin Sorbo and the duo responsible for creating The Annoying Orange (if you don't know, you probably don't want too).

The conference is made up of a hodgepodge of schools from other now-defunct conferences, so I don't believe there are any major rivalries really happening. I know Mankato has some sort of beef with just about everyone in some fashion, but other than that and the Key to the City rivalry in Sioux Falls, I can't really think of anything.

That's all I got. I like the conference in terms of the fans. It kinda feels like a big 'ole family.

I get gout, so I have to limit my beef intake.

Rivalries with SCSU, UMD, WSU and BSU and a budding rivalry with USF in football only

Solid summary... I'll also add that the Arizona Cardinals are currently home to two NSIC alums: Sioux Falls' Dennis Gardeck and Concordia-St. Paul's Zach Moore.

That would be wonderful. Just one non-conference game would help with "in-breeding". But it would take a lot for administration to approve a change like that.

That seems overly rash, especially in a lower division athletics and 40 teams it effects. However, something akin to those conferences can't host a home game in the playoffs or cannot be seeded #1 & #2 would probably be a simpler approach, put enough pressure to move the needle away from the silo schedule; but if they still don't play OOC then so be it that's still their choice but with some consequence to the upper teams of the conferences.
