Well, it's coming time for football to start back up. Saw this article about LSU's new locker rooms, and the insanity that is D1 football rears its ugly head.

A few hundred coasters would be far more cost effective than this monstrosity.

This is exactly why GVSU made sure they built a new library on campus before any further improvements were done to the athletic facilities.

Anyway, who is excited for Michigan to be a top-5 team all year and then get destroyed by Ohio State at the end of the year again?

I'm just waiting for Alabama and Clemson in the NC game again. It is an odd year so it goes to ALabama

The important question is how long has the library been like that and how long before it will be repaired?

FUnds for athletics and especially facilities upgrades come from a different fund than those funds used for a library. If the football team does a better job of fundraising, so be it.

Why does it matter? Some people want to be outraged, and facts will not change that for them.

The fact is that LSU had $600 million in building repairs required in 2016, the library was part of that.

That locker room was $28 million. If this was a professional team in a privately held field, I wouldn't even blink, but college athletics has become a monster.

Sounds like a long time. This is from 2016:

                          https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_ro...07957d120.html

Basically, they blame the Republican run state government for the 55% aid slashing and tuition and fee increases aren't enough to provide the upkeep.

You weren't complaining about the bathroom upgrades!

                              Sad.

Nebraska, one of the few fully self-sufficient athletic departments in the country, gives $5 million+ per year to the university. (Most of it is earmarked for scholarships for non-athlete students, but some goes to facilities)
