Gage Gubrud is gone? I can't find anything about that. Last I heard the NCAA gave him his medical hardship to play this coming season.

I thought you were referring to last year's QB. My mistake.

I am not sold on Gubrud at the FBS level. It will be interesting, but the Cougs lost a lot from last year.

It was maddening- but it also made me pull for certain teams around the nation. Or root against them.

Most of my childhood I think the NCAA limited teams to no more than two TV appearances per season plus a bowl game. It was a big deal when early season Kick-Off Classic type games were granted exemptions so you might be able to see your team four times if they were lucky enough to make a bowl game. Coaches' shows were a big draw mostly because that was your best chance to see more than a couple of highlights.

And a safety in their defense late. Even so, it seems they never get love as even that top 10 team last year was picked to be near the bottom of the conference which would have kept them out of BCS playoff even if they'd be the Fuskies.

ND State is a monster program.

SD State was never a power in D2 football. They would have some decent seasons but always overshadowed by NDSU, UND and even USD who made it to the title game. Now in FCS they have a great stadium, big crowds and have even beaten the mighty Bison. But they haven't gotten over the hump in the playoffs.

Games at NDSU are something else. Tremendous tailgating, a pregame that blows your ears out, and a packed dome. They just wear you down. I was there for a playoff game and it is such a home field advantage. Also there for a game against MS Valley State- that was over in five minutes. They dominate the FCS and many FBS programs avoid them.

These uniforms make me want to throw up. I hope that I never see the other choices if this is the best that they can do. Come on Spartans, you can do better than this.
