30k is not a requirement, there are several FBS stadiums that are not 30,000 in capacity.

The FBS requirements is that members are to achieve an average attendance of 15,000 fans per game once every two years to maintain FBS status.

Schools get creative though in how they can hit that attendance figure.

The requirement began in 1978 when Division I first split into what is now FBS and FCS (then it was I-A and I-AA). The FBS requirement then was an average of 17,000 fans once every four years and a 30,000-seat stadium, among other requirements regarding scheduling, scholarships and other things. In 2002 the stadium size requirement was dropped and the attendance requirement was changed to 15,000 once every two years.

It was the requirement when Idaho moved up. That is what I was referring. Sorry that was not made clearer.

That's how I read it, too.

                  • Harbaugh never mentioned the SEC or any particular schools. That is the author making the assumption.

                        • College football is back! Vanillanova pounds Toothpaste (Colgate) 34-14. Neil Youngstown St pounds Samford and Son 45-22. Gators chomp the Waterspouts 24-20 in a sloppily played game. Upset of the night- the Rainbow Warriors drink AriZona's tea 45-38. Watch AriZona QB Khali Tate come up less than a yard short to end the game.

It should be noted Hawaii also only punted one time in that game on their last possession. Before that it was either a score or a turnover.

                            • I feel bad for Miami in that UM/UF game. Miami was clearly the better team, IMO, except for one position. Left tackle. I think they tried two different LT's, and they were both absolutely horrendous, and shouldn't even be on the field for a D-II team, let alone a power five squad.

Miami's freshman TE was an absolute monster.
