This hasn't been doing well for Louisiana in the public relations department. Football coach "encourages" players to pay $50 for the booster club.

I take it the NCAA has scrapped the rule that you have to average at least 15,000 to stay in FBS.

I don't think that they ever officially dropped it but it certainly isn't enforced. The MAC has 5 of the lowest 14.

And Idaho voluntarily dropped down, wasn't forced. That I think says a lot.

I'm not a huge D1 fan, but it will be kind of fun to see what the new coaches can do at the 2 Kansas schools.

Really pulling for the NDSU guy to do well at K-State.

If I remember correctly, the rule wasn't that you had to average 15K, it was that you had to play in a stadium that could hold 15k. In its trial for FBS, Idaho played at Martin Stadium, 8 miles west of Moscow in Pullman, and the home of WSU. They did this to fulfill the potential attendance requirement.

I'm guessing they may have added seats then to the Kibbie Dome as I see it shows 16k capacity. Doesn't change the fact it isn't the best venue to watch a game.

I was wrong about the 15k requirement. It was 30K

Thanks for finding that. They really do have an FCS stadium and fit in the Big Sky much better than the Sun Belt. Now let's just hope that they lose on September 7th in the Kibbie Dome.

I misread most of these last few posts as Kibble Dome and was thinking that would be a great venue for the Puppy Bowl.

It is a nice venue for other sports, just crappy for foootball. We went to indoor track meets there when I was at CWU.
