Funny that a top 10-team from last year with a Walter Payton Award finalist at QB is picked so low. Even when WSU gets good, they are still doubted. We expect that though around eastern Washington even from back when Drew Bledsoe was QB.

They ought to be doubting them. There's a reason they call it "Couging it."

Well, they have what last few years would have been a good out of conference game to go with New Mexico State and Northern Colorado (QB know their defense from facing it?) in Houston at NRG stadium in Houston. All you Fuskie fans can say that, but who was the top ranked Pac-12 team last season?

Also no USC on the schedule, but they do also miss Arizona too. 3 of the other top 4 teams in Pac-12 teams on the road may be tough. I'm also not sold on the Ducks yet as they fell hard the last few years from being a national title contender.

Which team won the Pac-12 championship? Cougars had their shot to go to the game, and well, they Couged it. At home. With the best QB they've had in years.

How is it funny? That QB is gone, they also lost a lot of other key players. WSU is good for a couple of years, then they fall back. Really tough to sustain a top ten type of program in Pullman.

Anyone know if there is a site that shows the last football conference title for a team?

The last Gopher Big Ten title was a three way tie with Indiana and Purdue in 1967. Indiana went to the Rose Bowl (it was their last shard of a title too). I was in 8th grade. Now I'm retired. To say the least, the Gophers have been disappointing.

That Purdue game was a real kick in the pants. Then the Gophers spoiled Indiana's unbeaten season the next week. Hubert Humphrey went around the locker room congratulating the team the next week after they clinched the title tie- they were down because had Indiana not upset Purdue, they would have gone to the Rose Bowl to face OJ Simpson. Only the Illinois game was on TV that season.

The next year they opened with USC at home. They let the grass grow so long they could have bailed it. The Gophers led in the 4th after a transcontinental lateral across the field on a kickoff, but OJ had four TDs and the Trojans won. Again, not on TV- frustrating to listen to all of those games on the radio!
