Yes, that too. That, the no-targeting call, and the generous 4th down spot for Harding have all greatly benefited Harding.

That's not a defenseless player. Defenseless player is a wide receiver in the air with no opportunity to defend himself trying to catch a pass or looking back for the ball. Not a QB willingly jumping to throw a pass.

        • Mines has 3, maybe 4 possessions left. Better make em count.

I never knew the "defenseless" thing applied only to receivers. Matocha already released the ball and was watching his pass arrive to the receiver. That would make him defenseless, seems to me. Also, consider the fact, that if that same exact 100% hit would have been applied by an offensive player to defensive player as a block, then it would have been a blindside block.

Yeah. It was a bang-bang play.

              • That 4th and 1 call was bad and may have been the game.

The defense letting a pure option team score in 1:20 was probably the game.

Maybe. Let's see if Mines can make some halftime adjustments. If Harding comes out and scores a touchdown on a 8 minute drive, then it's game over. But, if Mines makes adjustments and gets their defense off the field quickly, it can be a good game.

How many possessions did GVSU have?

Terrible. Why run wildcat? Just run your offense with your HH runner up. All wildcat does is make you one dimensional. Everyone knows that the snap-receiver is going to run the ball.

                      • Mines better switch up the D, or they're toast.

A bundle as each defens was able to get the other off the field. Ucm had 8. 5 tds, 2 punts and was stopped at the goalline on another.

Not sure but GV was stopping the Harding offense except for 1 drive. Like you said Mines needs to make some adjustments. Problem is whatever adjustments they make, isn't anything Harding hasn't seen before.

Well, that's my point. GVSU had a lot of possessions. Because they showed that Harding could be stopped. I would have thought that Mines had a better run defense than GVSU, but, I could be very wrong about that.

                              • Not sure they're gonna have the gas to stay in this one. Another 6 to 10 minute drive might grind em to nothing.
