I had a long argument with him about his team on the GAC board earlier in the playoffs. I was underestimating his team, but he had a real chip on his shoulder that I had any criticism for them at all since my team happened to not be a playoff team this year.Originally posted by sportsvine View Post
He certainly is a piece of work and makes it easy to root against Harding.
The Harding fans are good people, they just have a bit of a chip on their shoulder because they feel like they’re a championship level team that hasn’t gotten respect. And they’re getting that opportunity to prove it now, just one game away. So more power to ‘em. Win or lose they just want to be seen as being able to compete with the blue bloods.

I agree. I think it's a fun matchup.Originally posted by Gorilla John 92 View PostThis is going to be an interesting game as their style of play are polar opposites. If Harding can control the clock I like their chances. Just like the ucm game, the team that punts the most will lose. This game will not be like the 7-6 rock fight with gv.

man.. we had the CFO or some guy I thought was the CFO come and talk to my business class like 5 years ago… It was a panel of extraordinarily high performing HU grads. I don’t pay attention that hard. If I’m wrong, oopsOriginally posted by Predatory Primates View Post
Last I heard, that wasn't true. Is Rainey no longer the CFO?

pretty much the only individuals that give money are people who played or their kids played at HU. I assume that supporting a Christian organization that is as hardliner as Harding would be problematic. I’m pretty sure Bentonville HS get more corporate donors than Harding.Originally posted by MrsThortonMelon View Post
Harding has some amazing facilities, I hope that the CFO is giving them some cash! Either way thats kinda cool.

I agree, I lean more toward a result closer to the CMU game.Originally posted by Gorilla John 92 View PostThis is going to be an interesting game as their style of play are polar opposites. I think Rainey is now at PayPal holdings. I believe it is Schmitt. Could be wrong, but neither of these guys graduated from HU. So, it might have been a while back when an HU grad was a CFO.Originally posted by Predatory Primates View Post

It will be interesting. On the surface, it sounds foolish, but I think it will be like the GV/H game BUT.... I don't see Mines having as good of a lock down D, AND Mines O should be better than GV's wounded group. I could final scores all over the place, but most likely both teams in the 20's. No clue as to who'll come out on top.Originally posted by Gorilla John 92 View PostThis is going to be an interesting game as their style of play are polar opposites. Brett Biggs is a Harding Alum…he stepped down as the Executive VP and CFO of Walmart last year. Rainey is his successor.Originally posted by Redready View PostI think Rainey is now at PayPal holdings. I believe it is Schmitt. Could be wrong, but neither of these guys graduated from HU.
