I wish that the 2 Pac would have absorbed the MWC instead of all the litigation. But if my wishes could come true I wouldn't have had all of this realignment. Southwest Conference, WAC, Metro, Big East football, Big 8, I could go on and on.

I like reading your posts, so feel free to go on and on. Where do you think my alma mater San Jose State will end up? I think the MW will lose more teams, either to the 2 Pac and/or the American Athletic Conference, and maybe even the Sun Belt. What say you Carnac?

        Ed McMahon- Hey-yo!

It depends who #8 is, and they may not stop there.
Or they may wait until things settle down once they add UNLV (can they join without UNR?)
And what does Air Force do- join Army and Navy in the AAC?
Sac St thinks that the city will come up with $$$ to go FBS. Well, they haven't shown all that much interest in the Hornets so far. So that is a long shot.
The MWC doesn't have to die- it would make more sense to add UTEP and NMSU and stay geographic.
I'm not sure that the two Montana's and Idaho (who was FBS) are ready- same with the two Dakota schools- but that chance won't come every year.
So to answer where SJSU goes- a rebuilt MWC.

Refresh my memory, but what conference is Chicago State in? The NEC? Even though Chicago is about as much of the part of the Northeastern US as, say, Las Vegas? And now they want to sponsor football? Make it make sense to me...

Nothing makes sense anymore. It's the way of the World we live in. But it's not new, it's been this way for awhile. I could site more examples, but as a geography buff it'll only make me want to .

I agree that Chicago State being in a Northeastern based conference makes as much sense as a peanut butter and ham sandwich, but I'm sort of confused as to how them wanting to sponsor football ties into that. If they have interest in starting up a program and think they have the means to make it happen, what's so bad about that?

Wouldn’t surprise me anymore if the NEC invited UNLV, that’s how nuts this has gotten.

For starters, Chicago State doesn't exactly strike me as a program whose financial status justifies football in the first place. I don't see the nearby FCS conferences falling over themselves to bring in Chicago State as even an associate member given how financially unstable the CSU athletic department appears to be.

                        • The six remaining full members of the Mountain West (Air Force, Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State, UNLV and Wyoming) and their football-only member (Hawaii) have signed binding agreements to stay with the Mountain West through 2032.

Didn't they commit to stay together shortly before Utah State jumped ship? I hope they do stay together but I won't be surprised if they don't. Nothing surprises me anymore, unfortunately.
