Moving day to Fantasyland - someone has kept the old Alderson Broaddus University Battlers Facebook page alive (after the school closed) and they posted this MBB schedule. AB is playing some pretty tough competition. Go Battlers, beat the LA Lakers on New Year's Day! LOL

Gannon and Ursuline College are joining with an expected effective date of December 15. 2026. The institutions and athletics would remain separate under the Gannon University umbrella. There will be no name change for the Erie campus while the Pepper Pike campus will be known as Ursuline College Campus of Gannon University.

Looks like NIU will be joining the MW for football only on Tuesday.

Jokes aside I’m curious where NIU is going to park the rest of their sports. I can’t imagine the MAC being too keen on keeping them around. The Horizon and OVC make geographic sense but those are both small-timey leagues even compared to the MAC. I can’t see them getting invited to the American and C-USA, while comparable to the MAC, is broadly a southern conference anymore so I don’t know if that’s a realistic option either.“No matter how badly things get blown apart, we will always plant flowers again.”

I'd say Horizon. They probably can't get into the MVC (Missouri Valley Conference for those confusing it with the MWC).Originally posted by TheBigCat2192 View PostJokes aside I’m curious where NIU is going to park the rest of their sports. The Pac-12 still needs another football school too.

I agree that the Horizon probably makes the most sense but I’ve given up on hoping for realignment to make sense. I also didn’t realize the MVC stretched as far north as it does. Might make more sense than the OVC geographically but you’re probably right in that NIU doesn’t have the basketball chops for the MVC to really want them.Originally posted by laker View Post

This might be the worst move out of all the college football conference moves which have happened in recent years. As brutal as the OU/Texas move from Big 12 to SEC was, at least that made some geographic sense compared to the addition of the West Coast members of the B1G which were once part of the PACifist 12.Originally posted by crixus View PostLooks like NIU will be joining the MW for football only on Tuesday.

If I'm the MAC, I'd be pretty ticked off right now as a gaggle of idiots in DeKalb, Ill. have pretty much undermined what's left of college sports sanity (though, to be fair, adding Massachusetts-Amherst kinda nullifies any gripes the MAC might have over NIU's ridiculous stunt).Cal U (Pa.) You can pretty much rule out the Summit League, where most of the schools are along the I-29 corridor between Kansas City and Grand Forks, with outliers in Denver, Tulsa (Oral Roberts) and St Paul (St. Thomas). NIU was part of the Horizon from 1994 until 1997 before joining the MAC and at least that conference is relatively compact geographically compared to the OVC.Originally posted by TheBigCat2192 View PostJokes aside I’m curious where NIU is going to park the rest of their sports. Also, if NIU were to place their other sports in the American or CUSA, that would kinda defeat the purpose of putting their football program in the MWC.Cal U (Pa.) Class of 2014
