Re: OT: Urban
Idk how many of you have spent anytime in Columbus Ohio but the Ohio State empire is very unique compared to the rest of the college football teams. Columbus is the 2nd biggest city in the midwest larger than Pittsburgh and booming. When I say Ohio State football is an religion its an understatement. I've been a lot of places but Ohio State fans and that city are in like a twilight zone in time when it comes to that program. I have seen nothing like it in college or pros in any sport. If you expected any other result other than what happened take a trip to Columbus and you will understand 18 year old kids are Gods, thats why they can recruit so well. Their college campus is an entire city. Its not right but the football team is worth 1.5 billion alone this is America and that's all that needs to be said.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostI think he should have followed Jim Tressel's example and resigned. In my opinion this is a worse offense than Tressel. I guess 3 games is better than nothing.

You know, to a weird extent, Berwick is like that on a high-school scale. You walk around that stadium on game day, and the eyes of the natives are glazed over. And we know how well they have recruited in the past.Originally posted by GhostOfHomer01 View PostIdk how many of you have spent anytime in Columbus Ohio but the Ohio State empire is very unique compared to the rest of the college football teams. I'm going to guess you don't make the $7.6 million a year like Urban does.Last edited by IUPbigINDIANS; 08-23-2018, 07:09 AM.

Re: OT: Urban
These days its more harsher penalties dished out to players who accept bribes, cash and gifts from agents and boosters than a coach who knowingly employed a woman abuser. I always thought he was over-rated as a coach and this just makes my decision to root against The OSU even easier.

never heard of the great George Curry, how can that be ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George...ican_football)Originally posted by GhostOfHomer01 View PostBerwick?
And yes, JRshooter is describing it well, Lots of great players . showed up in the school district some how, including some from a local juvenile facility, Many players never panned out in the long run though.

Re: OT: Urban
I think you'd be surprised how common it is with state flagship universities. There are obvious outliers and in some states it's basketball instead of football, but that sentiment is almost everywhere outside of the Northeast.Originally posted by GhostOfHomer01 View PostIm telling you there isn't a fanbase in sports like Ohio State football its wild haha

Re: OT: Urban
I think its worse with OSU because they are located in a major city and are the top dawgs by miles. An entire state of scarlet and gray. Alabama is split with Auburn and Bama Florida has many schools etc There isnt a college team in the nation with the economic set up OSU has. Idk you have to witness it to understand it, its not just fandom its like a indoctrinated culture that will never be questioned lolOriginally posted by Fightingscot82 View PostI think you'd be surprised how common it is with state flagship universities.
