Obviously the Yinzers don't have an NBA team. I was always curious about the dynamic. I know NBA games have some insane ticket prices. Of course, the NHL sure does, too.
I always love when the Phillies come to Pittsburgh. Their fans always travel well -- and, by baseball standards, are very engaged.

Fair enough. With the Commanders seemingly to have been greenlit by DC to return to the RFK site in the future, at that point DC will have nearly all of those advantages as well.

The City isn’t paying for the arena and they still are going to get the investment on Market East.

The Hierarchy is:
Iggles (will always be #1)
Phillies
Sixers (for now)
Flyers ( will jump the Sixers if they get legit again)

There is no comparison. It's the Sixers. The Flyers were popular back in the 1980's and into the '90's, Since then, not too much. The Sixers are a franchise that has a national following, not just a local one, current season notwithstanding.

Nobody from the Western Suburbs would be going to Camden due to the hassle of getting through the city twice to get back and forth and Camden isn’t exactly a garden spot in the Garden State. Philadelphia takes pride our teams played in one spot and it works and nobody wanted it to change.

My guess is that the change of direction for the Sixers arena had more to do with Comcast than the Sixers or city council. Comcast/NBCUniversal are leaking money from their RSNs and their low-ratings cable offerings to the point that they actually spun off a bunch of their TV networks. The local branch saw the writing on the wall that the Sixers were going to go somewhere and that a brand new arena competing with the WFC for concerts and other events might crimp their cash flow even more so they came back to Harris and negotiated a partnership. I imagine neither side is 100% happy with split ownership but it spreads out risk and gets them each one thing they want: event fees for Harris and Co. and not competing for events on the Comcast side.

It seems like Tomlin is leaning toward going with Justin Fields at QB next year. Apparently Arthur Smith preferred working with Fields and his relationship with Russ wasn’t great.
Of course this time last year Tomlin said the QB for 2024 was currently on the roster and within a few months the room was completely overhauled. And Arthur Smith could wind up somehow landing a HC job. Stay tuned
