Current Steeler (and former WVU player) Beanie Bishop posted an Instagram video of him stomping, wiping and dragging his spikes across the Pitt logo carpet in the Pitt facility (which is shared with the Steelers).

Granted, this is June 4 and they are dying to talk about anything aside from Aaron Rodgers. The hosts Dorin Dickerson (a former Pitt All-American and NFL player) and the other, Adam Crowley, (a WVU frat boy type) obviously took very different spins on it.

Their show (which is at least 40% commercials) is usually what I'd describe as God Awful. However, it was quite interesting today. The phone lines lit up and it got very heated. Talk Radio gold.

Just a guess here, but Mr. Rooney (Steelers boss and huge Pitt supporter) isn't going to be real thrilled with this idiots actions. I suspect Bishop will issue an apology today on social media (at the direction of Mr. Rooney). He's not exactly a star on the Steelers' team (and wouldn't be missed).
Supports what I've long stated about the perception of Pitt locally and how they are treated. Well over half the local media defended Bishop and took his side, stating that Pitt shouldn't be sharing the facility with the Steelers (the Rooney's love that arrangement btw).

Social media just exploded with two-thirds of the Steelers fan base (who are either WVU or Penn State fans) treating Bishop as a hero. It's insane that people feel the need to constantly take shots at the flagship university of the city they live in. People don't need to be fans of Pitt. That's fine. But the manner in which they are treated locally is nauseating. And the overall rooting-interest and unprofessionalism that exists from a large chunk of the local media towards the university and their athletic programs, because they are supporters of Penn State or West Virginia, is absurd.

The conversation shouldn't have been about stoking the fire of a rivalry. Bishop isn't from this region, played at 3 schools, and was at WVU for 6 months. I'm sure his hatred runs deep. This is a professionalism conversation. If a Pitt player from Maryland walked into the Steelers locker room and wiped his feet on their logo because he was a Ravens fan, how would that be perceived? I am certain everyone knows the answer to that question.

Their culture is horrific. Buttoned up, professional organizations with focused, professional people, do not pull stunts like that.

I agree. I’m not interested in this deal at all and all the distractions that are coming with it. I don’t recognize the Steelers organization right now and it goes beyond their gross mishandling of the QB position in recent years.

I think yinz are heading back into that 1980’s wilderness after the Steel Curtin years went away and you had Mark Malone and Bubby Bristerc at QB…both of whom I’d take back in their 60’s over Conspiracy Theory Aaron. Those years were hard for the Yinzers since I had to hear their whining for four years…not sure the current generation of Yinzers can deal with being really bad.

              • It’s a one year deal. They have the extra picks to trade up and draft their QB in 2026 which they were always going to do anyway. If there’s a 5% chance he can recapture some of his old form, why not go for it considering who they’d be handing the QB reigns to otherwise? I don’t care that he’s a weirdo. What laws is he breaking? I don’t care what happened with the Jets. That franchise pretty much never gets anything right.

This was always going to be a season of little to no expectations. So if it implodes, who cares? Worst case scenario they have a terrible season and don’t even have to make a trade to get the QB they want in the draft. But there’s a chance, however small, to catch lightning in a bottle. I’m all in.

Just don’t let him run out with a flag on Week 1.

                    Quite the extreme.

I don't think all of Sharpsburg goes to Fox Chapel, however. Doesn't a portion of it go to Shaler?
Sharpsburg is entirely fully zoned to Fox Chapel. I don't think there are any municipalities in Pennsylvania which are split into different school districts.

I loved the guy on Celebrity Jeopardy and, I admit, Jeopardy is my favorite sport.

Didn’t he also host regular Jeopardy a few times?

I just put my money where my mouth is. I put a couple bucks on the Steelers making it to the AFC championship game (+1700) and on Rodgers throwing 30+ TD passes in the regular season (+425). I expect a nice little chunk of change heading my way in January.

Yinz went from a washed up former pro bowl QB to an easily injured washed up former pro bowl QB.

                          But good luck anyway.

I hope he does well. I’m not expecting him to, but who knows. My point about the Steelers organization is they wouldn’t have never signed him when Dan Rooney was still around.

I've tried three times now to watch the Netflix doc on him. I can't get past the first 20 minutes without turning it off.

I know he had creative control or final approval (something like that). It just puts me to sleep.
