It’s a bad roster all around. The defense deserves every bit of the ridicule they’re getting, but the offense is an injury to Rodgers away from struggling to score 10 points a game. DK Metcalf is by far their best offensive weapon, but he’s not nearly as good as his physical tools suggest he could/should be. He can also be a mental midget as we saw last night. Every other skill player is 1-2 spots higher on this depth chart than they would be on a competently constructed offense.
I am a Steelers fan. I root for them. But it's becoming increasingly difficult to be interested, to be excited to even root for them weekly, or even care much at all about the franchise when it's not football season. The fanbase is mostly insufferable. And when I see how so many in the fanbase treat the college program, and players from it, that I root for on Saturdays, it makes me disgusted to say I share a fanbase with some of those people. The whole argument about the playing surface - give me a freaking break. Their media people are extremely unprofessional and punch down at Pitt every chance they get. It's reached a point where you cannot ignore it anymore, and it's honestly impacted my "liking" of the Steelers.

The Steelers are mostly just a low rent outfit anymore. The game passed Mike Tomlin by years ago, and it's lapping him this season. Anybody with a brain should've been able to see this coming. They are a bad team.

Is Rodgers a smelling salts addict? LOL

I swear every game he's caught on camera huffing smelling salts in the huddle.

Did you see the Pitt marching band posted online as they're about to take the field "Getting ready to ruin the turf"

When he signed I put a small bet on him throwing at least 30 tds that’s going to pay out fairly well if I hit it. Whatever he needs to do to stay engaged and upright is fine by me. Only 14 more to go.

Yeah I have to admit that I was wrong about him. He's got a lot left in the tank and hasn't been anything resembling the clubhouse cancer I thought he'd be.

Problem is that this team is basically Rodgers, a decent OL, DK Metcalf, and TJ Watt. Everyone else is borderline interchangeable.

Yes. It was tremendous. I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time. Good for those kids.

If not for Rodgers, Chris Boswell is probably the team MVP, which isn’t necessarily a good thing. But the guy is an unbelievable kicker.

TJ Watt isn’t living up to the king’s ransom he was paid, which a lot of people feared he wouldn’t at this stage in his career. Of course it doesn’t help that the secondary is terrible and QBs can just quickly get the ball out to wide open receivers and not give the edge rushers a chance to get home.

If things don’t improve the Rodgers experiment may still end badly, but it certainly won’t be because he was washed, as the kids say.

Watt gets double covered every time because we have no other viable QB sack threat. Stack the edge and he's minimalized. He's only getting through a few times.

I could sense Rodgers was getting pretty frustrated last night. I wonder how that builds as the season gets worse.

                    He’s old.

Pop pop should have retired a few years ago.

He probably has a butter scotch candy tucked in his wristband.

100% agree with everything here except for Watt. He's cooked. Absolute no-show in games this year, and the last 6-7 last year. The Steelers felt obligated to pay him, and this contract will set them back.

The whole defense is aged, slow, and not coached well at all.

I am on board with Tomlin going at this point. He has shown who he is in the past 10 years. Inability to coach/develop younger players. I wouldn't trust this regime to draft and develop their next QB. They have an immensely talented JPJ at the corner, and he's regressed since his rookie year. This entire coaching staff is a conglomeration of 'yes men' and not a single one of them, save Arthur Smith, has shown a propensity for making a game plan worthy of the NFL or making on-the-fly adjustments in-game. It's embarrassing and shameful.

I was thinking the same thing about Watt. It sure does look similar to how his brother fizzled out at the end of his career. I thought it was a mistake to pay him when they could have traded him and gotten a lot back. You could see it at the end of last season. If you just lose a quarter of a second on your burst in the NFL it’s the difference between being an All-Pro or on the practice squad.

I agree with parting with Tomlin and company at this point as well. The sample size is big. He is who he is. That’s not to say there’s a better option out there, but sometimes just different can be better.
