Kris Boswell will survive the night

    • I had no intention of staying up to watch the entire game but of course it was too close and interesting throughout that I had no choice. What a wild fourth quarter. What can you say about Aaron Rodgers? He’s been a model citizen since arriving in Pittsburgh and at 42 has led them into the playoffs. To put up 26 last night after they could only get 3 against Cleveland the week before was pretty impressive. Granted, Baltimore lost their best defensive player earlier in the game but Pittsburgh didn’t have their best weapon available either in Metcalf. I think my favorite part is when Rodgers gets in Arthur Smith’s face for either stupid play calls or not getting calls in on time.

Something to keep an eye on next week. Boswell is suddenly a little shaky and not necessarily automatic per usual. He did hit the long field goal in the first half but he has two missed field goals and a missed extra point in the last three games.

I am dragging this morning for sure, but yeah once I decided not to go to bed at halftime, there was no leaving that game.

Rodgers has had moments where he’s looked washed, and some of the game planning/play calling has been atrocious (last week). But they haven’t had a QB since Ben several years before he retired who was going to answer not one, but two absolute gut punch Ravens touchdowns in the fourth quarter. They need to turn him loose in the playoffs. They can’t play scared of Houston’s defense, though it is very good.

Nobody in the AFC is all that scary. I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’.

Nobody is scary the NFC unless the Eagles offense flips a switch…

Definitely. Seattle is good, but I can’t really believe in a team qb’d by Sam Darnold in the playoffs. I don’t think the Bears are ready just yet. The Philly-SF winner is going to be a tough out and I still think the Rams are good even though they stumbled a bit at the end of the season.

              • Pete Carroll fired after one disastrous season with the Raiders. Kevin Stefanski (Browns) and Raheem Morris (Falcons) have also fallen victim so far on the NFL’s Black Monday.

Gannon fired in Arizona as well.

Stefanski I'd give another shot to, I thought he did well in Cleveland considering the **** show that franchise is.

For sure. Two time coach of the year and won a playoff game working under probably the worst owner in the sport who saddled him with the Deshaun Watson mess not to mention the ridiculous QB room they had this year. Still only 43 though I’m sure Cleveland aged him significantly. I bet he’s a HC again by next offseason if it even takes that long.

Tomlin is 23-0 at home on Monday night.

Dome team from the South coming up to play in 20 degrees. Houston's running game stinks. DK returns.

Never know. That place has some magic on Monday night.

The Yinzers won't live in their fears.

Of course, the Texans' defense is ferocious. It should be a good one.

Houston’s defense is real good, but the offense is suspect. CJ Stroud hasn’t really taken that next step yet. If Tomlin can’t win a Monday Night home playoff game, he’s probably never going to win another one.

                        • Yinzers got a coach fired...not the one they wanted though.

Harbaugh out after years in Balamer (how they say it Maryland) or Balty-more (how we say it in Philly)

I’m shocked. I know he was close to being let go one other time, but man Baltimore had a ton of injuries this year. I can’t imagine anyone they get will be better.

I think it's the old shelf life scenario.

                              Coaches get stale.

When Houston's offensive line is healthy and stable, they can give enough time for CJ Stroud to be an effective quarterback. To be honest, the Houston offense is less sketchy and inconsistent than the Steelers offense. I do think the Texans' defense is far more consistent than the Steelers defense.
