Essentially all Houston needs to do is get a couple first downs each drive and flip the field. Make the Steelers drive 80+ yards. There’s very little chance they’ll even get into field goal range.

Steelers best offense may be to run the tush push 30 straight times.
Steelers OL looks like the freshmen team playing against the varsity.
Troy Fautanu is going to be a really good tackle. This was essentially his rookie year. But he got his rear end handed to him last night. I mean, they all did. It was a tough spot to be in. Their typical passing game in a phone booth wasn’t going to work because of how well the Texans tackled and limited run after catch. And they simply couldn’t protect well enough or get open to stretch the field.
I’ve never been a huge Pat Freiermuth guy but he was, at worst, their second best receiver. For him to be essentially cast aside for Jonnu Smith and Darnell Washington, Smith in particular, was absurd. Washington at least had value as a run blocker. Smith was useless.
The Texans could go a long way. CJ Stroud is the one thing that could hold them back.
The Steelers weren’t serious contenders but another complete whipping in the first round is unacceptable. I know they need a QB but they need a lot more than that and that’s the problem. The offensive line will be good, but everything else needs an overhaul. They never got a good #2 receiver and they paid for it. They only have two receivers on the roster worth keeping, and even that’s debatable because Metcalf if far past his prime and they overpaid for him. They way overpaid for TJ Watt and that’s going to be like an anchor on their neck for a while. Hard to fault the defense though in this game. Finally, they have a huge hole at the head coach position. Mike Tomlin has shown the world exactly who he is over and over again.
There are a lot of things to like about the guy and until a couple seasons ago I was still behind him. I just can’t anymore and it appears that’s true for most. Some say there’s a good chance he will leave on his own. I’m not so sure. I hope he goes and takes Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin with him.

I would leave the door open for Rodgers to come back. But if he even considers coming back there’s no way he’s committing to it until the offseason unfolds and I don’t blame him a bit. He’s not coming back to this group of skill players. I agree about DK. He has elite physical traits, but he gets the bare minimum out of them at this point. His awful drop last night was a deflating moment that crushed a chance to build some early momentum. To me, they don’t need a WR2, that’s what DK is. They need a WR1. They need a stud who actually produces.
I just assume Tomlin will be back. He’ll probably bring in Raheem Morris as DC, which might spark something as he is very good at that role. Arthur Smith wasn’t Matt Canada bad by any means, and he certainly was limited by what he had to work with, but he can go. He’s as vanilla as vanilla can be, though I know some of that is because he’s instructed to be that.

If he leaves he's going straight to a cushy TV job for about $15m per year. I don't think NBC will want Arthur Smith lol.
Personally, I think he'll be back on the Yinzer sidelines next Fall. He doesn't live in his fears. Or, something like that.

Well, this is a horrendously bad Free Agent QB class soon hitting the market.
The 'top' names are Aaron Rodgers, Tyrod Taylor, Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey Lance. Add to that cast of dinosaurs and bums, Mitch Trubisky, Carson Wentz and Malik Willis.
Willis is probably the only somewhat intriguing one of the group, but it's not like Tomlin could further develop him.
The supposed greatest QB class since 1984 sure doesn't look like it anymore.
Where they'll draft won't help, either, if they want to go QB. Although, they are sitting on a pile of picks and could move up.
The FAs are so bad I'd rather just see them let Will Howard and Mason battle it out in August. Aaron's going to go and sit in a dark closet in Malibu for weeks on end and meditate rather than play with most of these bums for another season.
But, to Nation's point, yes, they looked like the token G5 team invited to the party.
