There may be a temporary spike in gas prices, but I doubt it will last that long. Iranian oil counts for about 3-4% of total world daily production and I would predict that other Middle Eastern countries will increase overall production (Saudi Arabia in particular) if necessary. There is still some excess capacity available on the world markets which can fill the void if necessary, so we should not be bumping up against that barrier. Would agree that there could be a short-term market reaction primarily due to start of a shooting war rather than Iran's oil being taken off the market. Just my humble opinion.Originally posted by IUPNation View PostI’d suggest yinz top off all your cars before Monday if you want to save some money on gas..cos price spikes are coming.
But it was an exciting day in Indiana….and I told ya so!

Well, at this point nobody knows. But we do know it will not result in lower gas prices or gas prices that hover at the same levels. Gas prices are going to increase. By how much and for how long is anybody's guess. The dangers are not related to Iran's share of the market. The danger is the reaction from OPEC and we will have to see how that plays out. But, of course, if Iran can block the Strait of Hormuz it won't be pretty. The entire Middle East is in turmoil right now. And for what?Originally posted by gman16506 View Post

Hmmmm…but many complain about them when certain people are in office. I wonder why that is….Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post
I haven't looked at the gas price in 15 years. Makes no difference. Pay it or stay home. It's that simple.
Anyway..I won’t be shocked with 30 cents jumps Monday Night..they were already going up with just the threat for the past two weeks. Yinz need to fill up before price increases go out Monday PM….

Who it will hurt is Joe Average with a giant pickup truck that cost him more than his yearly salary.
Gas goes up. It goes down. Pay it or stay home. It's really the only two options.

Nah, I just kind of feel for the people who run this site and give us this space that are routinely given the finger by people who try to turn it into something it’s not meant to be.Originally posted by IUPNation View Post
What..you don’t like hearing about gas prices? Just helping yinz out…and rubbing it in too. Cos I was right yet again.
Then again they have let certain people operate under a different set of rules for many years, so they’ve reaped what they’ve sown in that respect.

What is happening right now is far beyond a conversation about gas prices.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post

This will pass. Sure, we delve into other topics from time to time but it always comes back to football when there is something to talk about. I think this is still the most active forum on the site so that means something, too.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View Post

They will spike. I’m at work and all wholesale customers just got shut off from loading anything until Monday..cos they’d stampede loading terminals to get all the gas before the prices go up and leave them out of fuel for contract customers.Originally posted by iupgroundhog View Post

Its going to be a fun week..glad I’m off most of it after Monday.

Delving off into other topics that are still in someway adjacent to division 2 football, or at least the sports world, is one thing. Being blatantly antagonistic about subjects that the moderators of this board have repeatedly asked us to stay away from on here is something else.Originally posted by iupgroundhog View Post

I get it but I love the free flow of comments on here and we always seem to end up policing ourselves.Originally posted by Chuck Norris View Post
