    It wasn't locals.

Regardless, it got IUP all over the news in a bad light (as usual).

Why? It didn’t happen on campus.

It doesn't make sense to pin this on the school.

What the **** is wrong with the yinzer media?

IUPatty's is inextricably linked to IUP the school. And when people think of Indiana, they think of IUP.

So if there was a shooting by non students on Forbes Ave by Pitt during raucous partying along the Avenue does it get linked to Fail2Pitt immediately?

It feels like the Yinzer media has it out for IUP. Have they even mentioned the ladies team in any positive way?

              • Unfortunately, I don't think there's any sort of way around it. IUPatties, official or unofficial IUP event, was created for and is perpetuated by IUP students. Its IUPatties after all and not IndianaPAPatties. Its merely a copycat of others like SlipPatties and State Patties. When I worked at Miami University, they had "Green Beer Day" which was always on a weekday and titled such to accommodate the anti-Catholic WASPy students.

Penn State has been able to deescalate the partying for State College Arts Fest but Bloomsburg has been unable to curb craziness for Block Party.

It's hanging on but compared to the peak 10 years ago it's weak today. Very mild.

If a couple idiots didn't shoot guns into the sky Saturday night, the police log would have been light in regard to anything serious.

                  • You're completely right. Only two underage alcohol arrests by PSP. Doesn't include Indiana or IUP departments though. Underage alcohol is just a very expensive parking ticket.

22 DUI arrests is concerning, though.

There's very little IUP can do about this. They have no proactive control over off campus behavior - at best they could send out an email to students. But events like this always fall victim to idiots who have nothing to do with IUP or Indiana, PA. The friend of a friend or the friend from home that brings a car full of idiots.

It just makes you wonder how freaking stupid people can be to drive a car on such a weekend. Indiana is literally a militarized zone for about 72 hours. There are police everywhere -- on foot, horseback, cars, helicopters. Not that any time is ever OK, but you couldn't pick a worse weekend to drink and drive.

Make no mistake, this event does provide a little economic spike. The hotels, bars and restaurants all get a big weekend. Most of these morons who got arrested will hire local attorneys.

I normally don’t ask much when guys transfer, but I’m actually curious: what’s the hope here? Catch on at an FCS school? Because they’re already in camp too, and they’ve probably picked up their shares of FCS transfers, FBS dropdowns, and D2 moveups during the transfer window.

It’ll be worth more than the one he got from Hillbilly High.
