It could certainly happen but I’d be surprised. I’m curious to see the signing class. In today’s environment, you can put a good team together pretty fast. I don’t think they’d gel in time for Samford but later in the season? Sure.

Looks like UWG has a Top 10 signing class in FCS.

First recruiting class turned out okay, on paper at least.

With UWG moving up to FCS and the news that Delta could be shut down in the near future, it looks like the GSC is on the verge of imploding, football-wise. Honest question - is there any truth to rumors that West Florida is in talks with FCS Southland Conference? If so, where do Valdosta, West Alabama and Miss College turn to? Is Valdosta's football future in Carolinas Conference?
Never thought we'd see GSC football in near extinction like this.

In looking at the rapidly changing landscape of Division 2 Football in the Southeast and it's potential best options for its long term future and stability, maybe VSU should take a close look at aligning with Conference Carolinas. It appears as though that now they're in a legitimate D2 football conference, some of the Conference Carolina teams are really beefing up for the future.
"Adding this year's very impressive UNCP signing class (in which may be the very best in Division 2 football) to a 7-3 team which returns most of their starters, it looks as though second year Head Coach Mark Hall is on the verge of potentially building a long term powerhouse program in the region."

"Coach Chip Hester continues to set his sights high for building a strong Division 2 Football team at Barton College.

Add in NGU's rise in putting higher quality and competitive teams on the field, and VSU could end up facing some pretty strong competition in the near future from some of the Conference Carolina teams.
On a side note, it looks as though Shorter has stepped up their recruiting. They too had a very good signing day.Last edited by Eagle74; 03-03-2024, 01:54 PM.

Conference Carolinas (as a football conference) hasn't even started yet, and will not start until 2025. It's clear that a lot of their teams are changing and upgrading, and I find your inferior comment as being out of line. Even though CC doesn't officially start as a Football conference until next year, they already have as many NCAA Division 2 Football Champions as the SAC;)

Still way to early to project for the Conference Carolina teams (a lot of program building going on), and I believe you underestimate NGU. Keep in mind that NGU was in the middle of the pack in the GSC this year, which would equate to being in the upper part of the pack in the SAC.Last edited by Eagle74; 03-05-2024, 07:13 AM.
