This I agree with. Pretty much everything else you said was BS.

That O has some issues, but it's not particularly easy to defend. It is readily schemable but takes rigid discipline to limit it, and incredible speed with that discipline to shut it down.

              Re: FSU vs Harding

Always a couple ways of looking at it. If HU gets ahead and defends well, they will EAT that clock and the opposing team finds themselves in a catch up mode. If HU (or anther good run team), continues to score and stay ahead or close, they can beat you and that means any game including a Championship game.

So to say it is easy to defend, is probably not be a good statement. To say it is easy to win against any style of offense would also not be a good statement.

Maybe we should say "if a team doesn't run their offense very well", "it would be easy to defend". :smile-big:

do u think the fact that you faced the offense 4-5 times per year as opposed to once made a difference?

                  +1

If you're not playing against this defense on a yearly basis, it's a pain in the @$$. There are only so many defensive sets a team will run against this O, and their coaches have schemed against everything under the sun. As was stated earlier discipline is the key to defending this O. But having a stout Dline and some athletes in the secondary is a huge boost.

NWMSU did it two times in the playoffs by the score of 35-0 in both games. It was a 4-3 D with inverted S. Safeties play inside out from QB to pitch. M plays off the ball 7 yards and runs inside out. Backside backer slow plays watching for the counter or reverse.

TA has baggage from just about everywhere he coaches. He may be a good on-field coach, but I question his ethics and desire, ability to develop his athletes for their future lives. Just look at XSU's football grad rates. There are other issues, but I've taken this OT too much. Call me Polly Purebread, or whatever, but the way TA operates is not respected by everyone.
First off if TA decided to go to Grand Valley you guys would be the first welcoming him, please. ....Since he went to FSU and recruited better and got your guys. Look what has happened..... So you think Saban is guiding his guys for future lives..the non NFL talent guys...get your head out of your a$$. You guys crack me up.

Can't wait to a 2nd and 20 or 3rd and 20 when you have to pass Harding.

                          Wait a NCAA infraction? What????

That's when they hit you with the slotback sweep and pickup 12 to 15. Just wait and see.

I see that you're new around here. If you've been lurking for awhile, then sorry. But no, I and I know others would never welcome TA at GV. And no, I also don't think he's recruited better. He plays by different student rqmnts (legit, but different.) And really I can think of maybe only 2 players that have made huge differences at XSU. One wasn't even recruited by TA. As for the second, I'm not sure how he Xfered in, but I'm not sure TA went after him as much as he seeked out XSU. And yes, there are other talented players at XSU, but it's been 2 maybe 3 Qb's that have moved them to much of the recent success that they have had.

And my head is in a very fine place, thank you very much.
