People are making this too tough. 2 divisions, 6 teams in each (North/South or East/West) is doesn't matter. You need to determine how many non con games are to be played because that will determine the number of crossover games. 4 crossover if 1 non con, 3 if 2. Before the season starts determine which division is home for week 11, that division will on the road the following year. Everyone knows weather they are at home or on the road for week 11 they just don't know who's coming or where they are going.

Use the tiebreakers to determine 1-6 in each division and starting at the top play the highest finisher from the other division that they have not already played. If the top teams don't get a good opponent for week 11 it's probably because they have already played the good teams from other division. The point is not to create a championship game as in D1. It will be great if that happens but the point is to make sure a team doesn't win a conference championship by not playing any of the top teams from the other division.

This is essentially the PSAC model.

The reason I don't think schools would want to participate in the second paragraph is, like I said previously, the logistics of it. A maximum of two schools will have to modify their plans, reservations, etc. in the PSAC model. In the second model, six schools would not know where they would possibly end up for most of the season.

Has this scenario happened in the PSAC.

2 in the south was scheduled to play 1 in the North, but they got swapped and now 2 has to playta really terrible team. They win but it effs up the metrics knocking 2 out of the playoffs.

it works in div 1a b/c there are weeks between the end of season & bowls/playoff. all those last week games that get planned on the fly between league opp's that also don't count toward the league standings for the season but oh by the way they can help/hurt your playoff chances - this is stupid. you know what makes perfect sense? a ten team league where you play everybody & crown a legitimate champion. d1a's deal with the devil is for tv $. there is no trade off for d2.

all you have to do is wait. someone(s) will leave it's inevitable.

I think it makes perfect sense. That last week is an open date, where you play 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 3, 4 v 4, 5 v 5, 6 v 6 plays.

If you already played that opponent during the regular season in crossover games, you can swap whichever way you wish, except 1 v 1 where you get the conference champ, which may be a rematch.

In the PSAC, the games are scheduled before the season started. Your method might create too many logistical issues to be feasible.

Idk. I think almost anything is better than the silo. The regular season is a snoozefest seeing the exact same teams.
