Northwest NEVER shied away playing good competition before (UNO, TAMKU, Midwestern St., MSU-Mankato, ACU, etc). They wouldn't shy away now either. Playing good non-conference teams is not necessarily a penalty and is high reward.

Wasn't talking about Northwest or Pitt but everyone else. Obviously, pencil in Northwest into the playoffs every year and Pitt 90% of the time. Same for Ferris, Grand Valley, Harding and OBU.

Edmond needs to go FCS or Tahlequah needs to go GAC so the MIAA can go back to 10 teams with 9 conference/2 non conference games and you play everyone in FB and BB

IMO I think it would be tough to play teams like Angelo, Mines, GV etc. in non-con. You may not make the playoffs in this region with a 9-2 record; a loss outta the gates and you know it's 9-1 or 10-0 the rest of the way. Lot of pressure. In Region 4, as Pueblo found out, 0-2 plus a league loss doesn't hurt.

If the MIAA gets out of the Silo. Will teams like Nortwest and Pitt. St. Play teams like Grand Valley and Angelo St or even Mines as their non conference game?

IMO I think it would be tough to play teams like Angelo, Mines, GV etc. in non-con. Don't put the cart before the horse. When we add another member to replace Lincoln we may still be Silo. But if we get two or more, then we know it will be gone.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it looks like once we get out of SILO scheduling, that the NSIC and GLVC are probably our best scheduling partners? Too bad the GAC is still SILO.

I have no idea. NW had a pretty good history of scheduling tough teams bitd. Pitt did ok in the early years, but liked to schedule too many patsies back when Broyles was hc and AD. During the Beck and jj Era it was a mix of good and mediocre to bad schools.

I see the jj and Wright combo looking for tough games. The caveat for Pitt has always been that they won't give away a home game. Too many local business donors count on x number of home games, as do the lux box owners.

Won’t LU still play MIAA FB in ‘23?
if so just have all 11 MIAA teams play a non-con week 1 in ‘24. The MIAA needs to lose 1 more member not gain more imho. 10 is optimal number.

No on the first, and the second won't work with an odd number of teams.11÷2=5.5 games per week,, and those half games are hard to play.
