Wins might be easier than attendance in OKC.

This was one of the things I used to get upset about. I think that the team will be successful, I should have clarified, it being about attendance. Regarding attendance, I hope so but based upon historical statistics I have seen, I will not take bets either way. Attendance at UCO wasn't that great in the 90s when there were several playoff appearances, granted the stadium was a mudhole back then. I would say it was in the average 3-4 range some tops at 5 or 6.

I cannot speak to how much student engagement they are doing, but community engagement has been completely non-existant. There was more local tv news coverage in the 2000s than there is now. (KFOR always showed highlights back then, and it is hit or miss now.) I would argue that Saturday night Week 0 should be in reality Week 1 for D-II teams. It would give some areas a fighting chance. I like the fact that games are on a noticable radio station for football and basketball. All this being said when it comes to butts in seats, I hope some of my fellow UCO alumns that really couldn't care less about the team will seem like Tony Shiavone soon.

I’m expecting no fewer than 8 wins this season in AD Year 2. I don’t think that is too lofty of an expectation given his god status with the NW fan base.

With Hays struggling, UCM flailing, and a new regime at UNK, the door is wide open for UCO to make something happen.

The 90swax a good time for the regionals in ok. The big three out tu and osu were struggling and limited TV exposure so they were the best gamd in town. We were doing 5to 7 k and nsu and 93 homecoming we did 10k. ( Ou list to isu and I wanted to jump off the top of that stadium) . Not sure will ever get to those numbers again but UCO is ripe for a good year. Unless they UCO it up again. ( Massively underachieve when a year they came in after a successful year)

I think UCM is past the "flailing" stage. In coach Lambo's first year he was obligated by contract to keep coach Boda's assistant coaches for one year. Those guys are now gone, and Lambo has brought in some impressive coaching talent. While it takes a couple of years to cycle through the players, I already see major roster changes.

Will be interesting to see how he does. Based on track record, I'm not sold on him at all.

I agree, after Lambo's two-year debacle at UNK he has a lot to prove. I'm hoping that his years under Adam Dorrel at ACU will be a big benefit. On a side note, I wonder if the UCM job had opened up before UCO, if Adam might have become the Mules coach.

Perhaps he would’ve to be back in Missouri. However, in my opinion if he couldn’t go back to NW, UCO is a better job than UCM long term. UCM would’ve been a huge demotion.

I’ll be the first to admit that we’ve heard that before. This is definitely a pivotal season for the ‘Chos.

the biggest issue would be availability in this hypothesis - idk anything about it but i would imagine it's plausible he'd be at cm under kma's scenario.

you have a guy with chops now though. it still has to be proven on the field obv but i expect co to be a force moving forward, whether that's this season or not when they take that step forward i think it will happen.

Thank you, that's exactly the point I was suggesting.

As soon as you said "However, in my opinion" I started laughing. What are the actual facts that led you to say that "UCO is a better job than UCM long term" and " UCM would have been a huge demotion". Hey, just pre covid, in 2019 UCM was co-conference champs with NW.

Adam Dorrel was a great coach at Northwest and could be again at UCO. But the ACU job proved that Adam is mortal and not Superman. I hope some of Adam's Northwest magic rubbed off on Josh Lamberson. Comparing UCM and UCO - last year UCM finished in 8th place and UCO in 6th place. Over the last ten years UCM leads the series 7-3 with UCO winning last year13-10 in a game where both teams looked like crap. Both teams have tons of work to do, but UCO is leading UCM in the rebuilding race after year one of Dorrel vs Lamberson. The Bronchos will come to Warrensburg in week two this year and hopefully it will be a better game for both teams after last year's season ending mess in Edmond.
