On top of that, let’s say it doesn’t work and no renewal. That doesn’t mean he’s out of coaching… take the opportunity if it’s right for your family. Pretty simple.

    • Or maybe another successful season at VSU would result in a better job offer.

Or he could've stayed, had injuries to key guys, had an average season and zero job offers.

You'd have to lack any and all self-confidence to have that attitude about such a possibility.

            Depends on your priorities, tbh.

It is for sure. He has to be in the mindset to jump ship if he is fortunate enough to have a great season. HC Portal

Clearly he wants to move up the coaching hierarchy, he did enough at Mesa to move on, and enough at Valdosta to do the same. Good for him.

For sure. You're right, D2 is clearly the best place and no player or coach should ever leave it. I'm sure you'd have turned down a 100k a year pay raise.

He made a logical coaching move, especially financially. An extra after tax $210,000 invested at 10% will be @$1,500,000 in 20 years.

Also Texas has no state income tax so another win. This isnt even a debate. You take this job 100 out of 100 times. He hit his ceiling at Valdosta and the job would have been more difficult this year with the transfer portal flux. All things being equal he has more opportunities with the portal to build quickly and show what he's got.

I think you are two generations behind when you speak of LOYALTY. JMHO

                            6. Infidelity or extramarital affairs in the United States accounted for 59.6 percent of divorces.

This statistic sums up LOYALTY in our country perfectly
