Just looked at the LSC 2026 Softball standings. Angelo State is rocking it in 1st place and WT is 16th. OUCH!!

Looks like he took an admin role and an assistant coach is taking over so looks like its not a scandal and they should be able to continue "as is" for this season.

Sometimes you are just done and want to spend time with the family which is pretty much what the former head coach from Harding has done.

Believe it or not, the 2026 softball season begins today. WT is in Los Lunas, NM for a 6 game tournament, which unfortunately will not be streamed, though live stats are available.

Buffs Baseball opened today too. Beat St. Edward’s.

Oklahoma Christian went to Florida and swept a doubleheader with Tampa (national runner-up to UT Tyler last season).

UT-Tyler lost to St. Martin's, 9-5. They bounced back and beat Simon Fraser.

BTW, Lady Buffs beat NM Highlands 8-0 in five and Adams 11-0 in 6.

WT won their first 2 games with a combined score of 19-0. They have 2 more games today starting at 4pm, and 2 tomorrow morning.

This is a much different team than last year. All of the pitchers are new, but supposedly very good. 3 are transfers. We lost our starting catcher and a sophomore with a lot of potential to Tyler, but also gained an infielder from Tyler who is looking good.

The Lady Buffs continue their solid play, defeating both opponents today by a combined score of 21-1. Tomorrow's games start at 11am.

Game 1 - gave up 5 runs in the 7th to lose 10-7
Game 2 - gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th to lose 7-6
Game 3 - gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th to lose 7-5

5 errors already, .187 batting average, .293 slugging, 7.00 ERA = long season

Not sure what's wrong with returning Freshman of the Year pitcher, but she has yet to make an appearance.

Make it 0-4, 6 more errors
ERA dropped to 6.51, but only because the 6 errors led to 7 unearned runs.
96 errors last year, on pace for about 135 or so this year.
