The only reasonable explanation for TSU being ahead of MSU is the committee taking every decimal of the SOS like it's gold....as TSU is at .537 for overall SOS and MSU at .534. This is the primary criteria..so it's very important..but typically when SOS is THAT close it's viewed as a wash and the committee moves on to other criteria. No consideration to the extra games (and chances to lose a game) played against D2 opp is a bit headshaking. At what point is 10-0 better than 8-0 or 5-0, etc etc.

If the SOS is looked at as gold....then things will get interesting next week. MSU will lose less in SOS than TSU. How much....tbd.

Has it ever dawned on you that the NCAA is, and has always been, more concerned with the almighty dollar? Me thinks having Tarleton play host as the No. 1 seed, the NCAA will reap way more in terms of revenue as the Texans roll thru SR4 en route to the National Championship game a mere two hours away in the DFW metroplex. No one wants to come up to MSU-Mankato's s#!tty junior high stadium and frozen rock-solid concrete "turf" again.

So many holier than thou Tarleton fans all of a sudden. Laughable.

"Joined Nov 2018" hahaha. Makes sense now.

As I posted in another thread:

Some interesting thoughts IF the NCAA keeps games in region:

If Tarleton is #1 and Kato #2 and USF #7 that would be a Kato-USF rematch (if the committee wants to avoid that and put Angelo at #7) but closer travel.

Turn it around and Kato is #1 and Tarleton #2 and Angelo #7 that would be a Tarleton-Angelo rematch (if the committee wants to avoid that and put USF at #7) but much closer travel.

I am not the brighest bulb, but if I have learned a few things over the years...........money talks.

CWU choking against Commerce really got to you it appears though. ;)
Dixie never had a winning record while they were in the GNAC. Their best season was 4-7. The last five years in the GNAC they went 12-42 for a .222 winning percentage.

DSU moved to the RMAC for the 2016 season. Since then, they have gone 25-18 for a .581 winning percentage. Why do you think they would win the GNAC? Maybe the upswing for Dixie was because they changed mascots.

see them taking two from SFU and APU. They would lose two to either CWU or WOU, maybe getting one win in the four games. They have gone 2-18 all time v. CWU and 2-14 all time against WOU.

Seriously, the Lions lost competitive games against two ranked playoff teams. Augie lost to an unranked team. This is a joke.
                  8-2 is a win pct of .800
                  7-2 is a win pct of .777

                  .800>.777

Also who has a better loss is irrelevant.

Ask UNA fans how many times they had to travel in the POs and semifinals even though they had the NC game in their stadium. Money has never been a deciding factor or part of the criteria.

                    Good grief.

CWU and Humboldt have been the conference powerhouses. CWU is clearly rebuilding after some great teams and well Humboldt...

Of course all hypothetical but looking at like scores from around the LSC, GNAC, and RMAC and I think Dixie would've had a great chance of competing for the conference this year. Past performances with previous coaches is meaningless. Simply don't think there's a very good team out west this year. You disagree, such is life.

To your point, 10-0 with more than half of your wins against winless or 1 or 2 win teams that only have wins over other weak teams says nothing about you being Champioship caliber. Just an example and not directed at MN ST. Insulate yourself then cry foul is an embarrassment. You want a ranking when MN ST HAS NOT PLAYED A RANKED TEAM ALL YEAR.

Would it mean more to you if Tarleton loaded up with games against Mary Upper Iowa or Crookston. All in the name of an extra game that the other team has zero chance of winning and most likely being embarrassed and ran out of the stadium. IE 81 points against Crookston that did nothing for either program.

Whether or not the NCAA wants to pull their collective heads out of their butts and stop recognizing weaker teams as equal and start weighting schedules remains to be seen.

No. I just don't think Dixie has improved since leaving the GNAC and until they prove otherwise I will take a 3rd place LSC team. Mines and Pueblo are definitely in the playoffs.

MN Duluth was a ranked team at the time when we played them.
