Yeah, it's very difficult to win the regular season and conference tournament championship. When you add how difficult it is to beat a team 3 straight times in a season, you can understand the results today.

        • It's already official. WLU hosts. Plays Bluefield in 1 vs 8. Potential rematch with Fairmont in Semis.

Where is the bracket posted? I don't see anything on the WLU Basketball site.

As much as I'd like to have believed the PSAC Title would weigh in for Gannon, the PSAC was too weak overall this year. West Liberty would have needed to have been eliminated in like the first round for Gannon to have a chance at hosting.

Not posted yet - selection show at 11. The hosting seeds were posted on X about an hour ago.

Gannon got the selection committee PSAC consolation prize...The #2 seed AND a clear run to the Regional Finals by clearing Fairmont out of their side of the bracket. They get an ESU team they have already beat, comfortably, earlier in the year, and then a probable match against a Va State team they handled quite easily earlier in the year - straight to the Regional finals! So what did the NCAA do "for" West Liberty beyond giving them the #1 seed? Well they gave them a first round opponent in Bluefield that they struggled to beat by two points earlier in the season and then scheduled a probable forth meeting of the season against Fairmont...A team that beat them their last game.

I wouldn't overlook Fayetteville. Heck, I wouldn't even look to the next line of the bracket until we see if the Toppers have any better luck with Bluefield this time.

I hear you and I absolutely would hope the team(s) approach their games that way. But as a fan, looking ahead has no effect on weather our team wins or loses!
