So the two-month PSAC grind begins for real today. It's always interesting to see how teams come back from the holiday break. Over the years I've see teams catch fire after the break and other teams looks as if they've forgotten how to play basketball. The newcomers have some games under their belt now, and it becomes clearer which teams have potential and which ones will have to wait another season. A game I'll be watching with interest in the East tonight is West Chester at Shepherd. Blair has the Golden Rams off to their best start in a while, and a convincing win in Shepherdtown, never an easy place to play, could add to that early narrative.

ESU sweeps Shepherd tonight to open East play! The women were paced by Emily Chmiel's 33 points and 16 rebounds, with Sophomore Lacie Kringe tallying 8 points and 5 assists. Freshman Brie Droege added 15 points, 3 assists and 2 steals in the 68-65 win. The men followed that with a 10-point victory over the Rams. Lakeem McAlily led all scorers with 24 points on 8-11 shooting. The Warriors defense forced 19 turnovers and turned them into 21 points. A quick turnaround as both teams host West Chester Wednesday.Last edited by WarriorVoice; 01-06-2025, 09:47 PM.

A huge win over West Chester for the ESU Men at home tonight. Golden Rams HC Damien Blair hit the transfer portal HARD, even bringing his son Dylan in from West Point. However, the Rams ran out of gas in the second half, going 1-9 from the arc in the final minutes of the game. Cam Young's offense kept the Warriors in the game in the 1st half, and Lakeem McAlily, playing without foul trouble, scored 24 to lead ESU. Young added 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks in the win that snaps a West Chester 12-game winning streak. A tough test awaits Saturday, as the Warriors travel to Lock Haven who fell to West Chester Monday. The Bald Eagles had tonight off.

We'll see if he plays when the students get back. The bench is thin at the moment. We'll see if the Jekyll or Hyde version of the Raiders shows up today.
IUP can't keep players healthy. Several of us think they have a poor strength and conditioning program. Regardless, Joe goes through this every single season.
A lot of our football players could easily transition. If they wanted to, of course.
