      He's a baller. He'll find a home in the low D1 ranks.

      • As of february 2025, the waiver for non ncaa seasons only applies to d1. However, d2 is considering allowing 5 yrs of play but doing away with exceptions such as redshirts. I wonder if that proposal has been adopted for d2? Otherwise, I do not see how Harper has another year unless he is going only to d1.
Edit: Harper and autrey can only go to d1

Sad but not surprised. He was the last player on the bench. Confusing because he was a .400+ three points shooter and when he did get in, he didn't seem overwhelmed. He seemed to be a sort of throw back Topper. Compitent in every aspect of the game but not flashy. Would have loved to see how he developed.

I would think it would be as simple as filing a lawsuit claiming disparate treatment to get this applied to DII players. Heck, with the overall ack of interest the NCAA shows to DII athletics in general, the threat of a lawsuit might be enough for them to cave. From the NCAAs perspective, there's very little juice for the squeeze in fighting such a law suit.

Great athletic ability. He was improving his shooting mechanics, getting more arc and backspin on his shot recently, which improved his average.
imho he needed great improvement on his defense. His stance was much too high so folks drove right past him. He needed to greatly improve rebounding.
He might be one of those folks who will be more comfortable in a structured offense. I wish him well.

Trouble with bringing in so many one year wonders and so many underclassmen leaving via the portal, you effectively need to start over every season. You think this past season was bad from a new player standpoint? 2025=26 could be even worse. Already gone:

                  Andrew Shull
                  Jaylen Stewart

                  Leaving:

                  JJ Harper (D1 Only Transfer)
                  Daniel Autrey (D1 Only Transfer)
                  Vadim Clanet (No eligibility left)
                  Garison Kisner (Transfer portal)
                  Lanyc Shuler (No eligibility left)

Four years on the Hilltop which gives him our "blessing" to leave:

Dante Spadafora (One year of eligibility left but has been at WLU four years)

                  Returning...at least so far:

Finley Woodward (SR, started all 36 games)
John Dragas (SO, started 22 games)
Kyler D'Augustina (JR, started 23 games)
Kameron Tinsley (SO, started 2 games)

                  No playing experience:

                  Machi Chester (RFR)
                  Cooper Kent (RFR)

                  Inbound recruit:

                  Aiden Davis (TFR, Stubenville HS)

Assuming we have no other transfers (BIG assumption) and assuming a 12 player roster, that's FIVE roster slots yet to be filled. And we aren't talking about depth guys, we're talking about five front-line turn-key transfers.

Besides davis district player of year myles montgomery from Ohio is coming to Hilltop. A D'Augustino type player but with deadly nba range.
also 6-4 cam Williams from cinci elder.

6-6 freshman Bennett Kayser was committed but $ lured him to Nova Se

                    • Former Seton Hill PG Gage Lattimore has signed with North Carolina Central.

Lattimore got bumped into the starting lineup last season after the Griffins' starting PG was lost for the season. He averaged 10.6 ppg as a true freshman.

Per his advisor, "big D1 looks" from Albany lol

He's older. I think this will be his last season. That level of D1 is the ceiling in this case.

I suppose the blueprint will be Omojafo.

D2. Low D1 and a good year. See what happens.

Not sure how big of an offer Omojafo will get but I'm confident it will be a tier above Bobby Mo.

We aren't going to see many D2 to Kentucky moves.

He's 23 so not that much older. With the current transfer rules, we're going to see more of this. His list of D1 interest isn't that great. The best is William & Mary.

We'll see what turns up. He's been in the portal less than 24 hours.

He could have been one of the better players in the PSAC this upcoming season. He's not a flashy guy but a jack of all trades type. Nice size. Strong defender.
