I don't think it will. Most seem to think they had a coach-in-waiting and this transition will just be a formality.
Rose left mid-season after allegedly getting disgruntled.
The two recent departures ... one barely played this year and the other was redshirted.
Good, then. I hate to see an entire team turn over in a year's time. I think the turnover we've had for some teams in the East has hurt overall competitiveness of the division.
In a totally predictable turn of events, three big guns from the MEC entered today:
Montano from Frostburg (which was obvious given his alleged dismissal from the team)
Trey Simmons from Frostburg (MEC's leading scorer and POY)
Ayden Goll from Wheeling (MEC's Freshman of the Year)
Lots of firepower in those three big moves. Seemed pretty clear that Wheeling and Frostburg weren't going to hang on to those guys.
Edit: Just noticed that just hours after entering the portal, Simmons already has a D1 offer from Southern Miss. Chances are that guy won't be around D2 next year.

Biggest question is will Whippen be granted a 19th year of eligibility?
