There is no way IUP at home should have lost to Shepherd-- a team that struggled to beat mediocre Bloomsburg., lost to Kutztown, and lost to Ohio Dominican. I know! I saw the Bloomsburg game. Yeah, I know Shepherd has a good QB, but so do a lot of other teams in the PSAC. This was almost an instant replay of IUP's going in the tank with home field advantage against West Florida a year or so back. IUP beat Cal, and almost took down SRU to their credit, but the Crimson Hawks really need to stop reading their press clippings and be prepared to play teams of higher quality. They were not prepared to do so this past weekend. Shepherd, as a long time experienced team of Div II playoffs WAS prepared to do so! a word of warning to Slippery Rock and all the "Slimey Pebble" followers!
I think IUP was too worried about REMATCH with Rock

Maybe... I think they ran into a better team though at this stage in the season. Shepherd is peaking at the right time, and we'll see if its good enough to knock off SRU. It was good enough to beat IUP at their place though.

The Washington Nationals are proof that getting in gear late in the season can pay dividends in the post season.

I don't know if worried is the right word but they may have been looking ahead a little bit. As for Blue Jay's comparison of the Shep and West Florida games, in both cases IUP ran into a team that was on a roll and had a lot of momentum at that point in time.

Maxwell was great this year. I have no complaints. He leaves with the single-season passing yardage record for IUP. Quite an accomplishment. However, in both losses this year he threw an ill-timed INT in the 1st quarter that changed the tone of the game. At SRU, it was deep in his own territory and resulted in a SRU TD. In the Shepherd game it was at the Shep 1 yard line.

Another question I have is where was Justice Evans for the Shep game. I know you go with the hot hand and all and Bullock had a great game (12 carries for 137 yards) in his final game, while Evans, the team's leading rusher, had 5 carries for -1 yards.

Also, regarding Deonte Glover, for Shep. The running game really evolved since the first month of the season when everybody was doubting Shepherd. In the first 4 games of the season Glover ran for 147 yards on 52 carries. In the next 7 games before the playoffs he carried the ball 118 times for 991 yards, averaging 8.4 yards a carry. Clearly, IUP had trouble defending the threat of Shep's balanced attack.

Finally, whenever I type a long post I keep getting an error message that says "Invalid server response". Does anybody else get that since the site switchover?

                • How bout the picked up PI flag on Shepherd's first drive on 3rd down? Thought that was pretty convenient to just pick up when it could have given a new set of downs inside the IUP 25...

You saw it with your own eyes? Maybe someone else can provide a screen shot, but the replay showed him at the line at worst, not in front of it. I'm not going to do it, because I don't care to try and find it. But if you're so upset about it, perhaps it'll give you some clarity so you can go into the off-season with a clearer head.

                        • anybody that goes to live sporting events has no clue whether a call is correct or not until you see the replay, I watched the game again because of all your belly aching. Your are wrong sir, you could see Bagent was clearly behind the line. I personally don't think you were there and were listening to your student announcers on the stream who were influenced by IUP screaming coaches in the booth begging for a flag. TJ85 I get your upset, I have been on the other side of last second loses, it hurts but the video says otherwise.....see you next year maybe

The student announcers didn't even say a word about it until the coaches in the booth started screaming. A friend of mine had to listen to the end of the game on the radio. He said that the radio guys never even mentioned it. To me, it just seemed like coaches trying to work officials for a call, which happens every game. Bagent appears to clearly be behind the line to me.

They did alright in this game until the end where a no call determines the outcome of the game. Go ahead and rip me for this, let me hear it. All it is is you people advocating for officials to blow calls in playoffs. Not regular season, playoffs and let me just say more than half of you on this board are thieves just like the PSAC officials and the people who run the officiating.

                              • Another thing I was wondering is how Deonte Glover ends up by himself at least 12 yards from any IUP defender on that play.
