I'd be curious what a starting CFL quarterback makes compared to an NFL backup QB. Thinking Trevor Harris.

Don't think you are following the conversation here. Was in regard to Trevor Harris, not Bagent. Bagent has secured a spot in the NFL for the next 1-2 years I'd think, and hopefully longer. Always day to day at best in the NFL or even year to year. Especially when the team your on, cycles through coaches as fast as they do. New regime, they don't care and could easily move on.

That's a little hilarious since starters probably play less in exhibition games these days than they have for most of NFL history. With a 17-game NFL schedule, I doubt you're going to see many teams risk their studs much in pre-season games. I'm old enough (and yeah I'm pretty old) to remember when the NFL played a 12-game schedule, and even then they usually didn't play regulars for more than a half.
A) earn the right to take preseason games off (not rookies)
B) they have a whole new offense and new players everywhere ... and that takes time to gel
C) the Bears suck - and have sucked for a very long time. They need the reps - even if it is against guys headed to Walmart in a month.
Believe me, I could care less either way. I just happened to have several hours in the car yesterday with Sirius radio and that's all they were talking about about on the national shows.
