Really worried about this one. Glad its at home, but as banged up as our oline is, its going to be hard to sustain drives and finish them, which is going to need to happen to keep Harding's offense off the field and helps out our defense. Points are going to be at a premium in this matchup. Hopefully GVSU can keep it within 2 or 3 touchdowns.

I wish GVSU could pack out the stadium for this one, but that’s not going to be the case, with it being Thanksgiving break and the OSU vs UM game happening the same weekend. Playing at Lubbers before myself, that’s the 12th-man effect that changes games for them. I'm not sure GV has the discipline on defense to make consistent stops. Their offense, too, needs to possess the ball, and it seems like their banged-up OL is not helping with this. Ferris fan rooting for GV but it doesn’t look good from the outside looking in..

Nope - this second round game no matter who it was, was going to prove difficult for GV - the D is very good BUT the O has not been all season - we do not have the passing attack we have had in the past and unfortunately, just like last year when we faced Harding, our O-line is nearly all backups after several injuries and that's not a good thing - keeping it close will be the objective but not sure we can - I'll be watching and pulling for my Lakers but it may not be real pretty - if the dogs take care of business this coming week we can see how they do against Harding in the regional final

Said all along this game worries me more than any other matchup we could have faced not because the other teams aren’t really really good as well but because of the way that GVSU D matches up against us. Far and away the best def team we faced last year and the only team to really slow down our off at all. Def line of GVSU against our Oline was a draw last year and as I’ve said before and say again maybe the best open field tackling team I’ve seen at any level ever in college fb. If the defense is anything like last years this will be a rock fight all day.

If so bring your wet cold gear with you, you are going to need it.
