The positive thing for Harding is, they are going to have a good idea how GV is going to game plan for them since they just met a year ago. The bad news is, GV has home field and are a VERY well coached D.

if HU can pull this off, it will be very hard to keep the Bisons from McKinney again…
Unfortunately, home field isn't going to mean anything for GV. There is never any turnout for the playoffs, unless it's against Ferris, and even then it would only be half full. GV just played in front of their smallest crowd in years last weekend. It's gonna be cold, it's Thanksgiving weekend so students aren't on campus, half of the high school state finals contain area teams this weekend, and Michigan/Ohio State going on at the same time, and I'd be shocked if there's any more people at the game than there was this past weekend, which I think was like 3400. The band is probably gonna make up a good portion of the crowd lol.

Which is sad. This would be an incredible game to see at Lubbers in September at night in front of 14k. But instead it's gonna be in front of 2500 in the cold during the day lol.

Unfortunately, I think any potential weather is going to benefit Harding rather than GV. I doubt the GV OL is going to be able to sustain any kind of running game against Harding's elite rush defense. So GV is going to need to throw the ball, and that becomes much harder with cold hands and cold footballs.

Terrible GAC, 6th seed. Look.. the metrics are what they are. Game by game. Harding don't care. They will bring it to Allendale just like they did Pittsburg.
I expect the Bison to be more than ready. I'm not sure who's promoting home field advantage, using a banged up oline as an excuse, or dissing the GAC. GV knows who won it all last season...AND who GV lost to. It's motivation, but also respect for a great opponent. I do think that the temps will be a factor. Part of me thinks that will impact GV more, but then again, Harding is the one having heaters on the side line. So temps are already in Harding's head. And true, that wind cuts through the east side of the field. They'll be some cold extremities Saturday.

I sure wish this was somehow played at another time of year as it's a real hard task to get butts in the seats now. Lubbers is an entirely different experience without that crowd. And honestly, I would think that crowd might even get the opponent pumped up. But in the end, I bet it impacts the fans' experience more than the play on the field.

I have my bias, but I think it'll come down to GV's Oline performance. IMO, that's the biggest variable. And who knows who'll take snaps behind center for GV. Here's hoping for a fun contest.

Love it! Haha my 9 and 11 year old daughters have already figured out how to handle the Michigan weather this upcoming weekend when we travel 11 plus hours to be there from Bison Nation. Like I said we don’t care.

Keep warm! Glad that your troop is making the trek! We had OK weather last year. Hope it's a good ride for you guys. Maybe I'll get lucky and run into you folks.

All joking aside, the vistors east stands will get the brunt of the NW winds and with or without snow those are not fun when the wind chill gets in the single digits. Just be sure and bundle those sweeties up! We will know all we need to know about the team based on if they bring in propane heaters or warming tents. Sounds like they dont use any of that, neither does GVSU. All the best!

In the playoffs since the sites are "neutral" either both gets them or neither do. It's typically decided by the host university unless the visiting team requests them and the NCAA agrees. Then the host team is required to provide them to both sidelines.

Thats not correct...IF the host team uses them then yes both must have them. If the visitors decide to bring their own thats up to them and they can do what ever they want. My point is if they do break em out they are not the Mentally tough team that the posters seem to think that they are. The game will be won between the lines, the rest of this is just banter. Enjoy the lovely winter day, wear your snowpants kids.

Nah. It's just 1 trash talker. In person, the Harding fans I met were great.

Yes that would be premitable, it's just rare, I hadn't even thought about it since the visitors usually just request the NCAA so they can get the home team to do it and don't have to bring them on the road.

Don’t pay any attention to LS. None of the rest of us do.

Keep our name out your mouth. You have enough to worry about this weekend. Why would we have any complex against you, we're 11-5 in the last 16 games.

GVSU defense might be even better at tackling in space this year compared to last year. I guess we shall see....will you be traveling to Allendale? If so bring your wet cold gear with you, you are going to need it.
Not traveling up there sadly, but Harding has had a year to prep for GV. I’d practically guarantee they’ve been staring at film more than a few times late at night figuring out how to beat the scheme Grand Valley gave them. As for the weather? Bisons are known to march forward through blizzards, bring it on Mother nature! I don’t think it’ll be a Pitt State level thrashing, but I don’t feel it will be a 7-6 defensive slug fest like last year. Keep the ball off the ground and the Bisons will handle their business. Can’t wait to watch the game either way, should be a good one.
