We can throw 7 in the box all day, but secondary can't guard California looters at a Best Buy. Our best bet is Bernhardt stepping on a nail in his off campus apt before Saturday.

Big Al is a monster and is definitely a huge key to success, but Moya (#11) is a weapon out of the backfield as well. There really isn’t a “go to guy” in the WR corps, but Tatum is very consistent. At the end of the day, though, our O is completely different with Healthy Hohensee. Wright has confidence and can make plays, but the play-calling is more conservative and Wright doesn’t evade the rush as well.

The Ferris O scares me, even with as good as our D is. The front 7 is amazing, but mobile QBs are always a problem plus he can clearly throw the ball to a variety of weapons as well.

I will believe in the Cats until proven wrong, but Ferris is far and away the best team NW has played this year. I think we compete in a relative shootout with Healthy Hohensee, but anything else is absolutely advantage Ferris (if it wasn’t already).

Yeah, completely agree. Ferris looks like a complete team. An A effort by NW this week may still not be good enough, but a B effort by Ferris might get them to the next round. I’m just saying there is reason for optimism for NW, even if it should be muted.

This is the sandbagger board. I feel NWMS is well rested after 2 bye week opponents they played. All you have to do against Harding is get a lead. Does anyone cover their 1 WR… so now down to business. As much as we hate Grand Valley High… we have much respect for the NWMS. 4 years ago I think when we played you guys in Maryville was one of the most physical football games I watched. I think we are pretty even now with you guys and if some one would set a line it would be Ferris 3 point favorite … just because of home field. Hope it is a great game. Safe travels to the North.

ya i mean i don’t think it’s some impossible task for us to win
just not necessarily a plausible one
frankly if anything i’m more hopeful after last week but am afraid we have too many issues
i will watch some ferris ball at some point this week i haven’t seen them yet, judging by their record and the fact you usually run into it by now i’m taking some liberties assuming how good they probably are (top 3 nationally).

Yes it was physical! Our QB went out with shoulder and rib injury after Seiler sack. D-end Bevins went out with ankle sprain. It was 2016!

Extra credit if you can ID everyone. Pardon for blurry photo, night games are tough to get good photos with my lens.

BC in the background-not sure on the rest
Remember Bevins injury well-he was hit from behind late in the game by an Olineman.

I see Annese next to the cop, Bevins on crutches, Seiler with his back to the camera, and our benevolent overlord in the gray coat. Can't say I recognize the guy in the blue hat though.

Why is Brandon wearing blue shoes?

Bill Connelly's quarterfinal projections (8/8 on Saturday):

                        Shepherd -3
                        Valdosta -13
                        Ferris -4
                        Mines -4

Seiler was an absolute monster. He reminded me of some of the DL beasts NW has had through the years. The hit he put on Zimmerman was epic, punishing, and completely legal. He was fun to watch. The cheap shot on Bevins was terrible and has no place in football, especially between 2 championship-caliber programs as these. IIRC, it happened later when the game was effectively in hand as well.

Very definitely a cheap shot-he let Bevins go by and then hit him. It was late in the game and cost Collin the chance to play meaningful minutes in the title game.
BC’s shoes did have an ‘N’ on them ;-)

Anyone heard anything about Mikey Ho?? Hopefully they're planning on a dual threat QB situation against Ferris!!
