Hey Jake. Sorry for the loss today.

The FACT.....TAMUC is the 2017 NCAA DII National Champions. And no matter what happens EVER, they will ALWAYS have that 2017 Title.

This is 2018, and no one has the 2018 NCAA DII National Championship. Unfortunately, this isnt boxing or MMA, etc... where you remain champion until someone beats you. If for some weird reason the 2018 NCAA DII National Championship game never happens, TAMUC won't be listed as the 2018 Champions.

Point.....be d@mn proud of that Title...and the bragging rights it brought. You were able to be on that ride from December to September and as I said will ALWAYS have the 2017 bragging rights.

But it is a new year. Live in the now.

I agree....maybe that is part of why TAMUC isnt dominating this year, like last. Maybe its the curse of the Natty I spoke of a few months ago. Hard to overcome it. GOD knows the Lions are loaded with talent AND have the coaching staff and resources.

Also.....it aint over til its over. You very well may be in McKinney in December, ya know?

Yes and its a silly argument. How long is the winning team the current Champion? 10 seconds? A week? Until January 1st? A month? 6 months? Or until another team is named National Champion? lol.

They will be the 2017 National Champions forever. However, they are no longer "The Man". They list that title to Pueblo.:wink:

haha. I am under no illusions about this season. I will be very surprised if we even make the playoffs. We arent good enough this year, real simple. BUT, we ARE the National Champions until someone else becomes the National Champions. :smile-big:

The correct term is defending National Champions. This means they are attempting to stay king of the hill.

I disagree with Jake on playoff picture. Lions can run the table and TSU takes care of MSU Texas as I believe they will then the Lions can get in as the 7th spot. C Wash should be sitting at home. They have NO quality teams on their schedule.

As a Javelina fan, I only wish I could have arguments like this. Even if it was defending a conference championship.

We are a train wreck as a program with no hope in sight.

What about spring practices for the 2018 season? Were we still Champions when teams started to prepare? Or when coaches met to discuss recruiting for this season? Or are we still Champions til the first kickoff of the first game of the season? First day of classes in January? First day of classes in September?
