I was simply speaking to all the hype about WT sports programs getting better by leaps and bounds....and it appeared to me that this was a false statement.

So, instead of eating lunch today, figured I would look for myself. I compared 2018-2019 to 2015-2016 (4 seasons apart to see the massive growth)

    Mens Overall
    2015-2016 - .612 Win %
    2018-2019 - .749 Win %

    Mens LSC
    2015-2016 - .581 Win %
    2018-2019 - .668 Win %

    Womens Overall
    2015-2016 - .753 Win %
    2018-2019 - .739 Win %

    Womens LSC
    2015-2016 - .776 Win %
    2018-2019 - .760 Win %

So.....it appears both mens overall & LSC win % has gotten much better (except for football).

It also appears that not only has womens sports not improved, but have taken a small step backwards.

All the hype talk has been about football and womens sports, when it clearly should be MENS sports (again, except football).

    Overall combined
    2015-2016 - .683 Win %
    2018-2019 - .744 Win %

    LSC combined
    2015-2016 - .667 Win %
    2018-2019 - .714 Win %

Looking from a combined program win % standpoint, WT sports overall & in the conference HAS improved in the past 4 seasons.

    I STAND CORRECTED.
This got me curious about what those numbers looked like for ASU over that same time period:(I used the data from the most recent completed season)
    Men's Overall
    2015-2016: 71.84% (led by Men's Basketball at 78.13%)
    2018-2019: 64.52% (led by Men's Basketball at 70%)

    Men's LSC
    2015-2016: 60% (led by Men's Basketball at 64.29%)
    2018-2019: 62% (led by Men's Basketball at 72.27%)

    Women's Overall
    2015-2016: 73.76% (lead by Volleyball at 84.62%)
    2018-2019: 76.87% (led by Softball at 85.48%)

    Women's LSC
    2015-2016: 71.01% (led by Volleyball at 87.50%)
    2018-2019: 80.25% (led by Women's basketball at 85%)
Our women's programs have increased their winning % both overall and within the LSC from 15-16 to 18-19
Our men's programs have been a mixed bag, their overall winning percentage has dropped significantly, but the conference winning % has increased

    ASU's Total Winning Percentage:
    Overall:
    2015-2016: 72.95%
    2018-2019: 72.08%
    LSC ONLY:
    2015-2016: 65.60%
    2018-2019: 72.73%

Thanks for the numbers. The big drop off was in Volleyball and to a lesser extent, softball. I'd bet some bucks that the volleyball downturn has been addressed. IMO, the jury's still out on softball. The softball trend is not encouraging.

I'm currently working on these numbers for every university (outside of TWU, I don't really count them). Will be interesting to see what the graphs looks like for each sport etc.

It is very interesting. #s tell the truth.

We all like to hype and talk smack, it's fun.....but knowing the facts is important if you really want to improve a program.

Here is what I was able to put together. This is by no means the gospel, but what I was able to put together from the conference website.
The first link is to the results in graph form https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing
The second link is the actual percentages by university and by sport. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Let me know if something looks out of whack to you and I will double check.

Unless WT is leading the conference ;) (jk)

Slightly less boring. But, not by much. Kinda like if this thread was titled "OT-LSC Soccer."

That's what my figures show, I was actually quiet surprised to see that. I figured WT would be at the top of that list due to their results in the D2 cup thingy. But my numbers don't show track and field, cross country, men's soccer, tennis, etc. and I know they have been really good in some of those sports as well.

This is why I was surprised by the results from my stats.
