Casey Bauman has had a special year for the Vikings. 3rd in league in yards, highest completion % incredible 177.5 efficiency rating. He has played great in pressure situations. For a 6'7" QB he can run fast and dart around. This is Casey's 6th year in college football and I'm so happy for him. He transferred from Montana State University and Augie is fortunate to have him as he had other FCS offers.
Also, for Jarod Epperson and all other players who come back from major surgeries. Epp had major knee surgery after game 4 of last season. He was well on his way to being the all-time leading rusher. It's taken him a few games to get back to his old form He now running with power and speed. Nobody could catch him on his 89yd. run against Kato, who you know hast fast DB's

But that’s not based on talent. That’s based on scheme. Strand is a much better overall QB than Walljasper, but Walljasper fits what Duluth wants much better. So, he likely wouldn’t start there, but again, not due to his talent.

FCS? Sure. He could likely step right in most places there, no problem.
Iowa gave that guy a scholarship apparently.
and since he is better than their current qb he would be starting at Iowa

Bauman is heads and shoulders above the rest.

You end up with this (too dumb to cut and paste it so look at the link)
1 Bauman (Augustana)
2 Walljasper (UMD)
3 Ekern (Kato)
4 Bohn (Wayne State)
5 Strand (MSU Moorhead)
6 Dean (Sioux Falls)
7 Alt (Bemidjit)
8 Stenstrom (WInona)
9 Massound (U Mary)
10 Martin (Southwest Minnesota State)
11 Cordts (Concordia St. Paul)
Not every QB has played the some level of competition yet. Not every QB has the same level of surrounding cast. Also weather makes a huge difference, so it becomes very subjective. But if you start with efficiency, that gives you something sort of non biased to start with. I have not really seen Strand play. I assume if you put him on Augie or Wayne he might be even better.
Let's see where they end up at the end of the year. Alt is low right now but to me probably 2, Bauman has looked the best with my eyes so far.

Offense / play calling coupled with personnel dictates what UMD does with their QB so the way they are running things this year no chance for the QB to compete in yards, attempts, etc... I'd love to see them mix it up much more as they've become a one trick pony relying too much on one guy for their offense.

This is my top 5 list, I considered how much weight is put on each player's shoulders to carry their offense and their success this season. Strand checks all the boxes for a typical qb and passes the eye test. Bohn isn't as natural of a thrower as Strand, but he is a competitor, and he is asked to do a lot in that offense with his arm and his legs.
1- Strand
2- Bohn
3- Alt
4- Bauman
5- Walljasper

2) Completion percentage in 2 losses (Duluth’s 2 quality opponents) = 48.65%
3) Combined passing in those 2 games = 207 (103.5 average)
This is just part of why it’s difficult to call him a top QB. He can run the ball with the best of em, and I wouldn’t want to get caught in front of that train! But not so much when actually asked to pass.

Really good points here. Also, in their 2 losses he had 25 and 24 rushing attempts. He's getting a starting RB load as a QB, which physically has to drain him and probably hurts his passing ability. Think of how many times he has already been hit in a game once you get to the 4th quarter. I'm telling you, as a former QB, that is unsustainable to do week in and week out in this league.

Will be interesting to see numbers in the must win Mankato matchup
