This was an interview with Coach Glo of USF before their get-together last night. Chad Birger does this show during the football season as well.

NSU class looks like Dosch recruiting, which is not a bad thing. Stop the transfer cycle.

Do people still emphasize area codes?

                    He sounds like the anti-Ludacris.

Airport codes are the new thing.

I think how many players you get from in-State will always be a thing at the small college level. The alums typically like to hear hear about getting local guys (who are capable of course) and ones they might've followed already as high school kids etc.

Considering NSU was fairly transfer-happy since COVID..I'm guessing there's been some blow-back about that compared to the Dosch days of having a high percentage of local kids..with NSU often taking more of the rural SD kids than you'd see at USF or Augie. That's great for the local look at footprint, but from a talent standpoint there's a risk there. (we've talked about this) I mean, Ian Marshall (the best defender in recent NSU history) and DeWaylon Ingram (top wideout in the NSIC) aren't from Dell Rapids, SD.

The 2021 NSU team is probably the best they've had in 15 years or so..as they could punch with anyone in the conference..proof of that being W1 when they had Kato beat at the Blake and thumped USF in the same year. That team was fairly transfer heavy. So..the playing the local angle is a dance. It's a catch-22..knowing a state like SD or ND has a limited amount of true D2-ability players, Part of me feels like the volume of SD players may have been in-part an effort to quiet the "we need more local kids than we've been getting" talk. We will see.
