The Beavers with a 6-1 win at Ferris State. The Beavers are now only two points out of a home playoff spot. Man, those 9 lost points, at home no less, to Anchorage, Alaska and Alaska-Anchorage are huge.

Looks like the MacNaughton will be residing in Mankato. Three more points will give them the Cup outright. There is a huge battle for the last three home ice spots with five teams fighting for three spots. Alaska and Huntsville are pretty much locks for the last two spots. Ferris does have a long shot chance of grabbing 8 (especially with a series against Huntsville), but I wouldn't count on it. Alaska-Anchorage is pretty much toast.

As of 02/11/2019 (Pairwise, WCHA Points, Remaining Schedule)

          (6) Mankato (59 points): bye, at Alaska, Bemidji
          (15) Bowling Green (43 points): Alaska, at Bemidji, Huntsville
          (27) Northern (43 points): at Bemidji, Lake State, home and home with Tech
(T-18) Lake State (41 points): Tech, at Northern, Ferris
(T-34) Bemidji (39 points): Northern, Bowling Green, at Mankato
          (42) Michigan Tech (37 points): at Lake State, Anchorage, home and home with Northern
          (50) Alaska (29 points): at Bowling Green, Mankato, at Anchorage
          (58) Huntsville (22 points): bye, at Ferris, at Bowling Green
          (56) Ferris (14 points): at Anchorage, Huntsville, at Lake State
          (60) Anchorage (9 points): Ferris, at Tech, Alaska

BSU ties Northern Michigan 2-2, gets extra WCHA point with 3 on 3 victory.

Lake Superior State and Northern Michigan sit at 44 points in the WCHA standings, holding down the last two home playoff spots. BSU sits fifth at 41 points.

At least for part of next year. The WCHA does recognize co-champions, so mathematically there still could be some sharing going on. Of course one more point in favor of the Mavs would let them keep it for a full year.

I believe that Bowling Green has the tie breaker on the Mavs based on the Falcons two wins in their only games against each other. The Mavs should be able to get one point from Alaska though and not have to worry about what the Beavers do to the Falcons.

Now the Beavers, in the other hand, are in a dog fight for home ice and have the toughest road of any of the teams. So we will take your support this weekend!
