My daughter and I were at the Gannon games, but had both games on the phone throughout. Didn't watch much of girls because Gannon girls played a stinker and didnt secure the win until late. But the guys game was a bore (they would've had better competition from Prep than UPJ) so we watched more of the guys game.

-TEAM PSAC OVERALL STREAK Gannon * 17-1 24-2 W11 IUP * 15-3 20-4 W7 California * 15-3 18-7 L1 Edinboro 9-9 13-12 W1 Slippery Rock 8-10 15-11 L3 Seton Hill 8-10 14-12 W1 Clarion 7-11 12-14 L1 Pitt-Johnstown 5-13 11-15 L6
Two dates remain and just (3) teams have clinched PSAC Tournament spots.
Wednesday:
Pitt-Johnstown at Seton Hill - The Griffins -- if healthy -- will be a scary team in the tournament. The season can't end fast enough for the Mountain Cats.
Edinboro at Slippery Rock - A Round 1 home game is perhaps on the line. That's big. The Rock is cold again but typically tough in Morrow.
IUP at California - Most didn't have the Vulcans losing in McComb on their bingo cards. Danny's boys may have got caught looking ahead. IUP's the shakiest 20-4 team you may ever see. Joe's team goes from red hot to ice cold in the blink of an eye. Then, oddly, goes back to red hot again. Very sporadic bunch blended with some deficiencies. But, they can make it work against any team in the league not from Erie.
Gannon at Clarion - If the Golden Eagles play with the same energy they did in Indiana 48 hours ago ... they'll lose by 100. Things are not good in the land of Captain Loomis.

Gannon is clearly the best team in the PSAC this season, and IUP and Cal are probably in another tier below them. The rest of the league is largely a jumbled mess, with almost any team capable of taking out the other on a given day.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View PostUpdated Men's Standings

If Cal plays anything like they did this past Saturday, their season will end very quickly. Granted, I don't know if they were missing anyone.Originally posted by Ship69 View Post

The glass was even at 35.
Edinboro only had 5 TOs which is incredible against Cal.
Danny played his 5 starters 31 minutes or more. He only played two subs ... 16 and 7 minutes. Bryson Lucas had a rare quiet game. The Boro giant must have got in his head.

Looks like that was Cal's normal lineup.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post

Danny dresses half the campus but he's only usually playing 6 guys.

Back by popular demand (and, by 'popular', I mean the 1-2 of you gambling degenerates who like this advice) ...
Pitt-Johnstown at Seton Hill - The Mountain Cats are the lone 'dead men walking' entering tonight. But, the team hasn't quit, and recently gave California all it could handle. Seton Hill finally snapped its long losing streak -- and could be a real sleeper pick heading into the conference tournament. The Yellow Shoebox is a tough place to play. The Griffins draw well during the week. UPJ won the first meeting but Seton Hill was sans its two stars. They are back, and that will make the difference. But, it won't be easy. Griffins -3.5
Edinboro at Slippery Rock - Just about every time this season it has appeared Edinboro has turned the corner, well, the Scots come crashing back down. So, here we go again. This time, Edinboro is fresh off a major upset of California. The Scots are tough in McComb (9-5). Not so much, however, on the road (4-7). To keep the good times rolling, Edinboro must win tonight in a gym famous for ending such momentum -- Morrow Field House. The Scots won Round 1, 82-75. The Rock has lost its past 3 outings -- albeit to IUP, Gannon and (now healthy) Seton Hill. This is a real big one for these two teams, as the winner tonight just may get a Round 1 home game in the PSAC Tournament. Vegas says go with history. Edinboro is a bit too sporadic to ride them tonight. SRU is tough in Morrow -- the place where odd things happen at coincidentally odd times (frequently). Rock -2.5
IUP at California - There's a big one tonight in Angelo's Dome. In fact, it will likely be played in front of about 130 humans (in a 6,000 seat arena). If you recall, the first meeting was quite the spectacle. The Vulcans came out red hot, then went ice cold. IUP had a big lead at the half and extended it to 16 in second half. Then, a total role reversal happened. Cal went nuts. IUP switched from fluid basketball to some version of playground intramural meets AAU. Ultimately, the Vulcans left the KCAC with a narrow win.
These two coaches get chippy. The teams get chippy (although they do play with a respect for one another). And, three poor souls have to officiate it. The Vulcans play 6 guys most nights. Their Top 6 are better than IUP's Top 6 (but not by a whole lot). IUP is much deeper. There's no tricks in this game. They know each other well. Of course, Bryson Lucas having free reign from outside in the first game was a trick I've never seen but I digress). Here's the thing: you gamble with your head, not your heart. Cal has won a big game this year (Gannon). IUP is 0-4 in its four biggest games. Yes, the Vulcans are fresh off a strange loss in Edinboro. But, they'll look different tonight. This is 'put up or shut up' time for IUP. Vulcans -5.5
Gannon at Clarion - If the Golden Eagles bring the same excitement and enthusiasm tonight that they had this past Saturday in Indiana ... Gannon will win this game by 100+. The Golden Eagles looked like a team watching the clock -- waiting for the final buzzer of the season to sound. Gannon -38.5

Yeah, Ship's game against Edinboro started a string of three teams the Raiders played with large individuals from India, the Congo, and South Sudan. Apparently the world is beating a path to the PSAC. Ship's most exotic player is probably Gabe Romero-Sanz, by way of IUP and the U.K.Originally posted by IUPbigINDIANS View Post
