Rose led the Mountain Cats with 21 points when they visited the Poconos earlier this season...

Rose is also UPJ's second high-profile, mid-season departure in the past few years.

If you recall, star guard Andrew Shull left right around this time two years ago.

      Odd stuff.

Those aren't like down-the-bench bus riders leaving in January.

Yes, but Shull left his next stop--West Liberty--after just a few games as well. That one doesn't sound like a UPJ problem; that sounds like a Shull problem.

What's ironic is Shull is one of the most down to Earth, nicest players I've met watching PSAC basketball.

          Preston Boswell was another.

          • Big win for GU tonight over #2 Daemen. ELITE defense from the boys- Bazzoli really can motivate these guys. The level of intensity is unmatched. If Gannon can ever hit shots with consistency they will be dangerous.

I'd say they are already dangerous.

              • GU was off on 3 PTrs only 5 of 25 so they drove the inside. Intense up & down the court. Daemen wore down after about the 30min mark.
                Nice att 1453.
                IUP game drew 1281.

They're already dangerous, Gumby! I don't know if they will become a good 3 ball team. Bazzoli recruits a different type of player than West Liberty does. Attacking is the M-O of this Gannon team.

They’re about as battle tested as a modern PSAC team can be with that non-con slate. They’ve had a few cupcakes (Bowie and maybe VSU) but they’ve got some real nice wins in Findlay, Lake Erie, Fayetteville, and especially Daemen.

                      • Good win for IUP. Gotta say, though, Jeremy Thomas is a ballplayer.

                          • No. 3 option on his high school team behind Minnesota DE Anthony Smith and current teammate Jayden Statum as they reached the 5A Eastern semifinals. I've been very surprised that Statum is at the end of the bench.

He lights up IUP every time they play.

Sounds like one heck of a HS team.

                              • Boro spanked Seton Hill. I didn't turn on the game until late so I missed what happened. Good win for Jennings after seeing the Cal game slip away and UPJ spank them.

Called it when they signed him, Rowan Carmichael was the steal of the division recruiting season.
