After layoff MBB is difficult to watch, but VULCANS lead KUTZ 36-27 at the half. Pegram back but not doing much. Keith Palek not playing haven't seen him on the bench.

Not an impressive warm-up for IUP on Wednesday, but a W, 81-64, is a W. Led by ALSTON with 20 followed by COLLINS and BOSWELL with 16 each. FG and FT shooting was weak, 3s was solid and without PALEK got out rebounded 47-48. They better find something by Wednesday or it will be ugly.

Kutztown isn't the same without Moe Williams. He got hurt in the Seton Hill game and has now missed their past 4 outings. He's one of the best big men in the league when healthy.

At least their game didn't get canceled.

That's odd Palek isn't even on the bench. That could mean he's in protocol. He's still on the roster.

It's going to be a good game. This isn't November IUP. Joe has some issues now.

Obviously DS didn't find either 3pt shooting or offensive rebounding (Palek??) and it was pretty early and ugly later. Now having an acceptable 2-1 week means winning @ UPJ on Saturday which I'd say will be next to impossible.

1/8 @ UPJ and 1/12 home vs SRU postponed due to CC. The ADs who are trying to reschedule these games have their work cut out for them.

Glad to see Keith Palek back on the hardwood.

Big help to ALSTON on the boards. Between them 30-49 rebounds vs Clarion. His scoring touch was a bit off with no game time in a month. He'll need to help cover Boswell's points on Saturday if Preston is still out.

Whatever issues the VULCANS MBB had at CLARION on Wednesday have apparently been worked out. With +6 minutes to go CAL is up 78-61 led by PA with 30 and BP with 20. Insane shooting FG-66.7%, 3PT-50% and FT-100%. Not anything I expected, by far best game of the season.

Final CAL U 87 'HURST 71 which I would rate as the most significant win of the Danny Sancomb era. Odd stat tells the story... only 1 offensive rebound which is what happens when you shoot 34-53 FG-64.3%.

Indeed! It was a joy to watch. One to be proud of.

VULCANS MBB picks up where they left off on Saturday night leading GU 45-23 at halftime. PA with 15 pts and 9 rbds leads, followed by Palek and Boswell with 10 each.

Sloppy second half but still an unexpected easy W 80-59 over GU. All starters in double figures-- Alston 18 and 10 followed by Boswell 16 and Pegram, Palek and Collins with 12 each.
Hopefully they keep up the pressure against the Fightin' Stewies on Wednesday evening.

Apparently SHU MBB were told their best shot at a win is controlling Alston, which they have holding him to 7 pts and 2rbds. Unfortunately while doing that the rest of the VULCANS were running out to a 40-23 halftime lead.

Final at the ANGELO DOME is CAL U-79 SHU-55. For the second game in a row 5 players in double figures...Pegram-18, Alston-15, Boswell-14, Collins-14 and Lucas- 10. Decent FG and FT shooting, but horrible 3pt.
                              On to SRU on Saturday.

60% of the regular season done and I have to say I am impressed with the work Danny Sancomb has done melding the group of players he started the year with. At UC in game one he started two familiar veterans, Pegram and Collins, with a talented transfer, Boswell, a lightly used sub, Alston, and a Freshman, Palek for an unexpected victory. Despite some stumbles along the way those five have played well together and there's even been playing time available for freshmen Lucas, Slaughter and Borden.
I'd be happy with a 8-3 record in the final 11 especially if some of those Ws are from the four remaining games versus UPJ, IUP and HURST. Time will tell.
