  • Hoopdirt also reporting at Salem's Brett Rector (former Charleston/WV Tech Assistant) is headed down to Coker. Could cause some shifts with assistants around the MEC looking to take over a competitive Tiger program.

Their scheduling (or lack of) gives the appearance of Salem being competitive. That's a tough job.

Fair point, I think they would be a middle of the road MEC team if they played a MEC schedule. Frankly, on pure geography, they are an MEC school.

No conference means a really tough time finding games in January and February.

        • Was just told that the Edinboro search is as much of a sh*t show as some would expect. Accusations of collusion between a committee member and a candidate. That tends to not go over well with state ethics commissions.

This is not shocking at all.

            • Edinboro job reposted. That usually means the applicant pool wasn't good at all. If only there was someone willing to take all the losing and do their best with the worst resources in the division.

Just think if they didn't want their coach to do a carwash every weekend to pay for his salary they wouldn't be in this mess.

I'd bet KR is dying to get back to the PSAC but it sounds like he didn't apply for the Boro job.

Of course KR didn't put in for it. Who would want that dumpster fire other than some Jabronie that can say he coached college basketball.

Cleary's record was .402 over 10 seasons. Edinboro coaches with similar or worse records: football (.429), men's swimming (.319), wrestling (.300), women's lacrosse (.118), softball (.420), women's tennis (.333), wheelchair basketball (.343). Of the 13 programs with win/loss records, only 5 coaches have a career record at Boro of .500 or better.

                      • Bob Bolen, who coached Mountain State University to the NAIA title in 2004 has been named head coach at Glenville State.

                        • Looks like glenville is moving away from wlu ball permanently since associate head coach Smith was not hired.
Somewhat relieved because a couple of years ago it took a last second three by malik to win the game in the MEC tourney when they were playing that style.
Will be interesting to follow the retention rate of players to see If the revolving door slows down, which was an issue even before the portal.

Spend 3 days on that campus and see if you're not on suicide watch.

Yep. The town and campus alone are okay - its the isolation that really sucks. If it were adjacent to Charleston or Morgantown or Wheeling or hell even Beckley it would make it a lot more palatable. Fairmont is much bigger and at least close enough to Morgantown.

It is remote, even by wv standards. The drive from Parkersburg to Glenville is an experience. Highway shoulders and guardrails are optional. The drivers who live there are excellent, due to natural selection.

I saw a house across the 100 ft wide creek next to the highway that was accessible only by a pedestrian swinging bridge. Good times.
