Seemingly a good addition at MSU. It's nice to get local athletes if they are capable of playing well at the D2 level.

Some NW fans were drooling over this kid; but not all. I was in the not all category. In more ways than one he is probably a better fit for Sunny and company. Wish him the best.

I've never watched a second of him play but the thought of a 6'5 somewhat local kid with D1 experience coming in to play at NW was exciting. Potentially to provide some of what Joey provided. From what I heard at the Elite 8 I believe you are correct that the fans were more interested in him at NW than the staff.

Not quite sure what was lost; most definitely not a recruiting battle. But if you are referring to taking a pass on this kid, then so be it; culture did win.....again.

Congrats to the Griffs! I know some of his family well and by all accounts seems like a good kid... I hope he recovers fully from his ACL and is a good player for his hometown school. I never want to lose to them, but I look forward to bigger and more meaningful rivalry games in the future with our neighbors to the south!

I was excited about the prospect but have also seen D1 guys not cut it at this level. NW has lost plenty of recruiting battles as all schools have. There are guys all over the league that NW recruited that chose somewhere else. If it makes you feel better, a recent MW grad was atop their list but choose Western (Clearman). However, as I said, I heard at the Elite 8 that there was way more fan interest than staff interest. I'd still have preferred they go after him for depth if nothing else since that's a consistent issue we have.

With that said, it doesn't surprise me that he is going to another school. It does surprise me that he said he wanted to go to a winning environment and went to a school that openly said a goal of theirs this year was not finishing DFL.
