I don't even know what that means. The majority of KWC athletes that graduate have always done well.

IMO, promote Todd Lillpop to the Director of Athletics position and clean house after all contracts have run out. That especially includes Brent Holscaw. I'm sure he's a great guy and can still coach at some level. Any coach can get pay to play athletes just so they can tell their homies they play D2 Football.

Where is your loyalty some might say? If a minister in the United Methodist Church falls out of good standings with the pastor parish relations committee, they move on. Easy peasey.

KWC is a great academic institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church, and there are a bunch of NCAA and NAIA programs in that same category. However, how many of them have become bottom feeders in their respective conference? Duke?

It was not Osborne who I was referring to with the 6th winningest coach comment. It was comment made on the AB thread from one of our "new" posters.

        Any ways.....never mind.

If kdub wants to keep sloppy they should go naia then maybe they could win again instead of getting blown out by Detroit commuters college.
Go naia and then eddyville sp would be open for recruiting again.

Sorry, the comment was made in the sentence after defending Happy so I assumed you were describing Happy as the 6th winningest coach. I take my comment back then.

UF took down another tough oppoent last night beating Fairmount St 84-82. Quite the start for the Oilers, besting the number 5,6 and last seasons national runner up. Would love to get UINDY and BU into the GMAC to produce the greatest basketball conference in D2.

I've always been curious about that line of thinking. Why do you want to make it tougher for your team to win your conference and make the post-season?

A gift was given to the Panthers. They didn't have the courage to do what was needed. DMSMT.

Makes you tourney ready. Have zero stats to prove this but I have always wanted a tough schedule over playing a bunch of cream puffs. What do you get by playing soft schedule? Just my opinion

Not to mention the tougher your conference the more at large bids it will get. The GLVC guys know this, they're just being pig-headed as usual.

I agree with that somewhat, but there's a line between "soft" and "adequate" and there's also a difference between "tough" and "really tough". I don't see any programs running to stack their non-conference schedule with really difficult, true road games.

All I know is that there were several years, when the GLVC was extremely loaded, that there were 2 or 3 or 4 teams from the league sitting at home that were better than teams that made the tourney. Personally, I'd much rather be a good team in a decent conference than a good team in a loaded conference.

To answer your question, though, a good performance against a really soft schedule will get you into the tourney. See Kentucky Wesleyan the last couple years.

Actually, it was an honest question, and one that wasn't directed at you.

Yes, you'll get more at-large bids. But if there's 5 really good teams in your conference, they aren't all getting in the tournament in a region with 3 at-large bids. At least 1 of those at-large bids is going to go to a 2nd place team in a decent conference before a 5th place team in a really good conference. Or maybe you've forgotten those years where there were 1 or two really good GLVC teams sitting at home?

So why did Drury leave the MIAA to join the GLVC which was the most stacked conference in D2 at that time?

Drury's never been in the MIAA. We were a D2 independent for the first few years, then were in the Heartland Conference from '99 to '04. The Heartland Conference, at that time, was only 7 schools - two of which were in south Texas and another was in the Oklahoma panhandle. That should answer your question.
